Playing a bass as the main instrument.. legendary
@graemem1114 жыл бұрын
Totally. The only person apart from Ian Kilmister that I’ve seen playing a bass like a lead; Lemmy’s spirit lives on. If you have not seen it then their 2017 performance on BBC Glastonbury Channel is also epic. Was there to witness. Truly stunning.

@@graemem111 Oh yeah Lemmy was awesome. Les claypool is good in his own way, but I definitely prefer some Motorhead.

Try Death From Above 1979 and Lightning Bolt. Some good riffs in Royal Blood but they're quite soft in comparison
@zackswanson71884 жыл бұрын
@@g2theb yeah I'll try some of their stuff. I'm a guitarist first and am still learning bass techniques, so I'll shop around and see how these feel

@dread true No it's not the only band I've seen with Bass as lead. But it is one of the few bands where bass is the only stringed instrument.

Close, it’s the ending breakdown riff but tbf it does sound a bit like a bass solo
@marw95414 жыл бұрын
That's called a bridge, not a solo
@samtorr39473 жыл бұрын
@@marw9541 no its not 🤣🤣 the bridge connects the verse and the chorus or two choruses to break repetitions. This is more of a closing solo or, I know not technical, a hype piece.
@marw95413 жыл бұрын
@@samtorr3947 You mean breakdown, that's the common word used in today's culture, it's where you have a new piece before another chorus, I guess your word "hype piece" describes it accurately, but people have been calling that moment a break down for, well, quite a bit

Yo love this band but folks who thinks there is a guitar, there isn't. The singer, bass player has a dozen Effect boxes on his bass, He can make it sound like anything he wants and he could be playing with tuning on the bass as well,. Man is a genius but check out the rig, that boy loves Effect boxes on his sound. That's what's getting him to sound like guitar and not just a 4 string bass. Super talented dou!

Nah, it’s just something he plays before Out Of The Black at every show. They also usually play Out Of The Black as the last song on their set so they can do that really long outro, so whenever you hear him playing that riff you know they’re almost finished and are going to play Out Of The Black next.

Muse was boring as shit. These guys can actually keep a crowd’s intense energy and make a 4 minute song 9 minutes without being boring, whereas Muse can barely make it through 2 minutes without everyone falling asleep
@biggusmcchungus13362 жыл бұрын
@@garmen- What? That's just completely wrong. You may not enjoy them, and that's cool, but saying that they struggle to keep attention for more than 2 minutes? Watch Knights of Cydonia live, they make it about 8 minutes, and the crowds don't just love it, they sing the fucking guitar solos with Matt Bellamy. I don't like certain bands, but to shit on them for that reason, especially when what I'm saying is very obviously wrong is just stupid

@@lebigfin5251 buddy you clearly do not understand how music works. you can still be *on* the click track's downbeat while still having everything in between be inconsistent and off time. it's called dragging, swing, shuffle when it's deliberate, or when it's like this, we just call it fucking sloppy. these bozos have no synergy. also audio and visuals hit their respective senses in different ways at different milliseconds. video needs to be way less precise to sync up, especially when it's the flashing of lights.
