My grand daughter, Poppy and I were also fortunate to experience that magic night It’s a joy that our experience can not only still be shared , but also preserved for all So many thanks to the Legion for their work, the BBC for a magical production , Sheku for the tears, the other performing “greats”, Leonard Cohen for his poetry and music God Bless

Beautiful! Wow, Sheku Kanneh-Mason channels Heaven’s voice. 😇 Also, tribute to my kin Mr. Robert Scott, an American WWI Army veteran. A Black man who fought valiantly for others’ freedom only to return home to fight some more for his own. Hoo-rah! 🇺🇸🇬🇧💯

If you actually knew anything about ww1 you'd know it wasn't about freedom what's so ever British people were never in trouble in that war we were sent to the front lines to protect France and Belgium because a few monarchys in Europe had a falling out....

Speaking as one fortunate enough to be able to represent my Grandfather in the arena, it was incredibly emotional just being there. The music was perfect and the reaction of the audience at the time, and since, brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye. We Will Remember Them!

this was played so movingly and he never missed a beat,it really tugs at the heart,those ww1 veterans would have been so proud, but it was little reward for their sacrifice

Still watching this wonderful tribute by Sheku Kanneh Mason, one year later for Veteran's Day in America and Remembrance Day in Britain 2019.

Simply, magnificent! Sheku rendered a most beautiful and fitting performance for this occasion. Every movement of his bow touchingly memorialized the fallen most reverently. I listen to this often. Thank you for sharing your talents with us, Sheku, and the whole Kanneh-Mason family.

This video gave me peace spiritually in what appears to be such a cruel world at the moment.. Thankyou to all those who have sacrificed their own lives in the world to help bring peace for future generations.. You are ALL to be truly admired and there are those of us who will carry on your legacy for peace for our now future generation on this planet.

Without wanting to trivialise the sacrifice, very few of those who died volunteered. They were conscripts as in the next war. Thank god my generation did not have to slaughtered like them. Our masters must continue to ensure that the people that they represent should not be put in a position like our predecessors
@jmichael40025 жыл бұрын
Don’t want to argue and I don’t completely disagree. But don’t forget that conscription in the UK wasn’t introduced until 1916. Hundreds of thousands of men were volunteers, including all those men who were at the Somme on 1 Jul 1916. So it wasn’t “very few”, rather it was a huge proportion of men who were volunteers. And that also is tragic.

The sad part is these are the ones we remember. What about the one's who have no one remember them or forgotten about. ( does that make sense...? I'm an ex British soldier.

The words to Leonard Cohen's song never make any sense to me. This appears to be the solution.

Perhaps a person should know the lyrics to this song and wonder why on earth it was used for Remembrance day and AGAIN in 2022 with the LGBTQ choir centre stage. Wake up people this is for those who DIED in the war not for political agendas Do you think any of our brave heroes in the past would appreciate this?
