This is one of the most well-made cruise ship tour videos I have seen. I enjoy how professional and clean it is. The video work is sublime. The voiceovers are informative and add to the visuals. Much better than many other videos in which the narrator is walking around with a camera during a time when most shops and restaurants are closed, and giving useless commentary.

The Voyager and Radiance-class ships just have such a rich character to them. The rich wood accents all around makes it feel more nautical (versus the very polished/bland Westin hotel feel of the newer ships). I love how so many spaces on those two ships classes are outward facing to the ocean, and the full wrap around track with bow access. I hope all these ships get refreshed rooms soon but keep all the other charming features that are so lacking from Royal’s newest offerings.

Absolutely fantastic tour! I love the Voyager class ships! I think they are the perfect size and I honestly feel like you get a great mix of activities but also a better customer service experience. Maybe because you are running into the same crew members a lot more often than on the larger ships. Also, the Voyager class has a little secret that not everyone knows about, and I haven't seen on any other Royal Ship... Just in front of the fitness center there is a "Peek A Boo Bridge" that allows you to check out the actual bridge. It even comes with a monitor to display all of the ship's gauges. If you go back to 3:14 of your video, you can see it. Thanks again for another outstanding video!

Thank you, Ben and David for a lovely tour of the beautiful Explorer of the Seas. Hubby and I were on her 11/21 and we loved it. There were many, many Covid restrictions at the time, but we didn't care as we were so happy to be cruising again. The adults only solarium was lovely to sit in and watch the ocean. Swimming there was a no go because the pool was freezing!

So many sun beds! Personally I can't be the only person who doesn't like to bake in the sun. It's too hot and skin cancer would be unpleasant. Now if it's in the shade and there is a breeze I'm up for it, but the majority of these seem to have no shade. Other types of seating with shade would have been a better choice for some of the sun bed areas.

We were on Explorer before the panademic. So glad to see she has been updated. She is one of our favorites. We had a panoramic oceanview room on the upper deck. It was awesome. Being that far up you did feel the movement more but it was worth it. The rooms were slightly larger with floor to ceiling slanted windows. They were located directly above the bridge and you could walk out onto the upper deck.

I know this is a older video well not too super old but I was absolutely baffled to see the ship is still in commission I actually took my one and only Cruise the first year that the ship was available and I was I believe in the 8th grade and it was for my spring break with my best friend and I am now 37.... someone else will need to do the math but that was a long time ago LOL it looks amazing and I can recognize some of the places that haven't changed but there's so many great things that have been updated I just found y'alls Channel and I am enjoying living vicariously through your many Adventures❤ vicariously through you

This was our first cruise we went on, and this was Explorer of the Seas. Flew to Italy and coach ride to the boat. The coach driver was more interested in his phone than driving, so we were all over the place. Then, I fractured my arm on the ice-rink day before debarking to come home. We cruised to Montenegro and around the Greek Islands. Just as you think things couldn't get any worse, the coach driver on the way to the airport hadn't realised the coach infront had come to a grinding hault and our coach took a sudden swerve to the left hand lane knocking off his wing mirror. I was glad to get back home with my arm having been put into a sling.

They did a great job considering the time constrictions and it doesn't surprise me that they couldn't get everything on the list checked off. The ship has some pretty elegant lines and wonderful views, and I'm sure it will be a relaxing, memorable experience for countless families to come. Wouldn't surprise me if they retracted about 20% of the loungers though, especially when people try to walk around up there with double-wide strollers, etc.

Have you stayed in a promenade view cabin? Contrary to what Ben and David said, I've heard they can be quite noisy and exposed to other cruisers. Have you found that to be the case?

@@Lovesapuzzlewe stayed in one before on deck 8 it was very quiet even during 70s night not completely silent but quiet you do have to remember to close the curtains if you want to get dressed in the room though but I loved the window and would definitely say in an inside promenade room again.

We had a PR (promenade) room on Voyager of the Seas and it wasn't too bad. Loved being able to just chill and sit in the window seat and just people watch! I can see why that type of room wouldn't be for everyone but as it does have views, it sure beats a true interior! We miss the Voyager class ships here in Australia.

I absolutely agree with you. As time marches on, too many ships are no longer ships it seems, but rather floating buildings. What is the point? (And, frankly, why would Ben and David [as cruise lovers] speak so highly of this massive floating building?!) I always thought they liked "ships." We are Diamond Plus on RCCL and have booked Promenade Staterooms about 6-7 times. We loved them. The lighting in the Promenade changes according to the time of day. The only time we ever heard anything was during the parade and 60's show and it wasn't loud at all. We (and relatives we cruised with) always got the rooms opposite the Cafe Promenade. We could look down in the mornings to see if they had shown up for coffee before going to breakfast. Give them a try. It was great for parade/people watching before dinner, or any time.

So glad they didn't remove the gym and thermal rooms like they did on the other Voyager class ships. (The refit on those replaced it all with more cabins!) Most of my cruises have been on Explorer and Voyager, as these were the only "large" ships RC sent to Australia for a long time. I really enjoy how connected to the ocean you feel on these ships - there's places with sun lounges around the entire perimiter of the ship. Hope I get to sail on Explorer from Sydney some time soon.

FYI every Royal cruise I've been on closes 1/2 the buffet for serving during the evening meal. I think it keeps the diners using one side for dishing up but usually the seating area is all open.

Hello Ben & David great vidios both the Explorer & Voyager were home ported in Sydney for a few years we loved them just the right size for our ports the larger ships ate not able to dock in many places have sailed on Ovation 7 times but it is limited to NZ and some of the Islands.

Aw this is such a nice video. Went on my first cruise last year and it was on Explorer. It was fantastic. We were lucky to travel during the same time as "Buddy Cruise" which was lovely. The size of the ship was perfect for our first cruise. Not too overwhelming, yet simply magical. We thought it would be our first and last cruise but after that trip we knew right away we'd be back for more.
