After 3 Carnival cruises , we decided to try Royal Caribbean and we are now Dimond plus on Royal Caribbean and would never look elsewhere. Royal all the way.

I just got off Royal Last Friday. I had a good time. But Ive been on 4 Carnival. Last one was Mardi last year and I feel Carnival lived up to its slogan. Fun Ship. I had a better time on carnival. Royal had a better main dinning choices. But I found the only “free” meal beside buffet was the pizza. Carnival offers more free choices. Guys Burger. Big Shack Chicken , Guys Pig and anchor and BBq Smoke house. I had the late 8pm dinning and around 4 pm I gotten hungry. But all I could really get was Johnny Rockets and I chose not to get. I prefer carnival shows. My choice is Carnival

Carnival is definitely a Fun Ship with a great party vibe. They have really been improving over the last several years, especially with the addition of Guys. I do wish Royal would provide more free food options like carnival. Thanks so much for your insight. learning what appeals to others and what you liked most helps us for future videos.

Carnival is know as the party cruise line and they have been trying to improve their image to better compete with Royal. Royal has been slipping some in their service, so Carnival might catch them soon.

Been on 7 carnival cruises and always had a blast. There are folks that like to dress fancy as well as those that keep it casual. The crew are ALWAYS friendly and make you feel like family. Food is pretty darn good and the price is great. Never seen an issue with obnoxious behavior but Carnival are professional and I'm sure would deal with it appropriately. I'm looking into Royal just to give something different a try and appreciate your video.

Very helpful review, thanks! I booked my first cruise with Royal this summer, it’s a little pricey than Carnival. What I pay for RC interior room but I can get an ocean view balcony room at Carnival jubilee. But I’m not a party person at all, and dont want to pay extra for activities on sea. So, I guess I will stick with RC. 😅

In our experience Carnival really is the Fun Ship! Royal has fun stuff but the hours were so limited trying to do them is a hassle and more crowded. Same with Ice Cream, the Royal ships that have ice cream stations have limited hours, we LOVE getting ice cream and hot chocolate 24-7 on any ship via Carnival. Carnival has good food and much more included for variety. Royal has a LOT of extra rules. Carnival is more relaxed and fun. For us, shows and entertainment have been consistently better on Carnival too. Carnival's Mega deck party is always super fun and better than the dance parties on the Royals we went on. Lastly Carnival is bomb at hiring cruise directors, every one we've had was incredible and really made all the events and even announcements even better

i LOVE royal. i have a fancy taste, and i’m the type of person who hates spending money and not getting the best experience annoys me, so even though i’m spending more on rc, i’m guaranteed a good time

If given the option I would choose Royal over Carnival, however I do enjoy them both for different reasons. With Carnival stepping up their game, that opinion could change in the future. 😁.

For RCCL food, such as Liberty of the Sea doesn't offer a lot of free food places compare to thr Carnival. For buffet area, Carnvzl open 24 hours even they don't serve food so you can go in an seat at the table and have a drink. However, RCCL Liberty, they closed on certain time so you can't go in. I like to seat at the buffet arez during at late night and work something and drink some juice. RCCL, for small ship, it limit on free or included food option. We were so disappointed. So we are trying a bigger ship this year which is the Harmony of the sea.

I agree, one thing that would make Royal Caribbean better is more food options. They do have several more on the larger ships like the Harmony and Wonder. We have been on both and found those more enjoyable than the smaller ships. They also have a lot more areas to sit and relax. Nice work on the review. Looking to book a cruise in a few months so this is helpful info! Wife and I are non-drinkers and lean more towards introvert side of scale but don't want a cruise to be so stodgy that you have to wear a tux on deck and everyone is reading the Wall St Journal. But we also don't want it to be like the Vegas strip with weed and fights and other low-class behavior constantly. Is Royal the best option over Carnival in that case or have you found another line that might be even better? Cheers!

I would say with what it sounds like your looking for, Royal is your best option. I do like Princess too, but they lean toward the more upscale side. Royal is a great in between. We have a couple other videos out on Royal’s newest ship, the Wonder of the Seas. It might give you a better look at what they have. Royal does have a couple formal nights, but it’s not tuxedos, it’s just dress nice. I’ve seen slacks, nice jeans, polo shirts and business casual during their formal nights. They are pretty laid back. We have never experienced any issues on Royal like we have on Carnival with behavior issues.

What about a comparison of lines that are better suited for disabled travelers that need scooters or wheelchairs? All videos I see shows everyone walking around and have small spaces that look hard to maneuver.

We see a lot of people in wheelchairs and scooters when we cruise. The larger cruise ships like Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class ships, have a lot of extra room aiding disabled travelers with moving around the ship. Cruise lines like Princess and Celebrity see a lot more people using scooters or wheelchairs than cheaper lines like Carnival. No matter which line you chose, they have accommodations to help everyone navigate around the ship. I’ll keep this in mind for my future videos when I travel and try to put something out on this issue. Safe Travels.

We are also doing a cruise on virgin voyages this December :) as our honeymoon cruise :) we have only ever cruised on p&o Australia, and only 2 cruises, so we're fairly new to cruising. I would love to try as many different cruise lines as possible :) the only problem is Australia doesn't really get any of the amazing ships that the US does, we pretty much get the ships no one else wants (the hand me downs) as i have heard a few people say lol but I guess at least we get some ships here :) better than nothing :)

My first experience on Carnival was not good. There were too many drunk people everywhere. My sister, my mom and I had dinner at 5 p.m. and every night we had drunk people sitting with us acting all drunk. And their food tasted sub par. I assume they thought we would be drunk and not care. Plus smoking was one entire level had smokers. Ick.

Did you know you can request a "non shared" private table? We do this every time just because we prefer family. But have personally had pleasant nearby guests when we did not.

Royal is better. Better shows like ice skating and the aqua theatre. Carnival has deal or no deal and bingo for some nights for the main entertainment. I had some boring moments on carnival. NCL is great for Alaska.

Hi there, good morning, just want to share with you that when we went on the Carnival cruises in the first couple of times the last client at Bar Cruise was back in 2013 but, we understand that Carnival had to make a current view for those under 18 but, if I ever did have kids in the future, in my opinion, I think the kids are gonna be fine. As long as the mayhem on board, and follow all the guidelines that they have put in place for you under 18, they should be fine for the most part The comedian who got escorted off the ship at the next Portocol, due to threats to some of the Cruise customers well, when we went on our cruise, we didn’t have any problems at all. Now I am one of those comedians, and I don’t do threats to any of the customers at all one of the things I would do as a comedian is cause them trouble and get them to become troublemakers and I would joke with them all night long till 5 o’clock in the morning and then I would take all of the joke Master’s to the comedy club, and get them signed up into doing stand-up comedy. I’m not one of those comedians on the cruise ship but maybe in the future I might become one of those comedians on board and I will get everyone into start laughing so hard, that they would be in stitches so, it’s not that I wouldn’t do any threats to any of the customers at all mainly I would just be joking up on stage and not that very much so that’s why I just wanted to things I want to share with you also, that buffet style is really good on Carnival, and Royal Caribbean because damn, if we have a short scourging that we’re going on like at 9 o’clock, or 930, a.m., then the buffet style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner will make more sense because if I get us into eating quick, and then we’d be able to go back to our room and take a nap. Also, I am one of those teddy bear bands, and one of the things that I like to do, these look around for other folks that are teddy bear bands like me so we can find a spot on board or we can do Teddy Bear stuff for a while so just to give you a heads up

I do feel the issues carnival is having is a rare occurrence and hopefully they get it all under control. I do enjoy carnival ships and will gladly take another one without a second thought. Yes, it’s a new program and Royale Caribbean just announced September 1 they are one of the cruise lines that will switch over. The program is called starlink maritime and just came out in July. Right now it has limited coverage area around the coastlines and the cruise companies haven’t announced how much it will cost passengers. It’s still new, but sounds promising.

It was an editing software issue that happened after the final review and wasn’t caught until after the upload. The issue has been fixed, so hopefully my future videos won’t suffer the same fate. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating, but a lesson learned.
