If you put your iPhone left channel in one ear and your iPad left channel in the other one, with a bit of synchronisation it’s perfect! 🤪👍

Yes it's mostly coming from the left channel but it's been the same on some other KZbin channels as well, a KZbin problem I think.

Installed mine. Took a couple of hours, mainly because I stripped the self tapping screw with my Torx 20 that holds the medallion in place. Fortunately, I went back to the video and observed Stuart removing the medallion and was able to observe the thickness of the plastic. So I drilled the medallion out, little bit messy but not bad. Stuart, thanks for a well made video on the subject. My tach is installed now and believe its a great addition to the bike.

Nice vid Stuart. Very thorough as usual. My dad had an old ‘50’s Lambretta 150 (in the 60’s) with automatic up-change indication. Basically when your eyeballs started vibrating it was time to change up! 😉😁

I added one of these to my classic 350 about a year ago. It works fine, but the wire harness would have been very helpful (I had to splice into power and wrap the sense wire around the spark plug lead), and mine has the matte black bezel instead of the much prettier chrome here. I found that removing the headlight "casket", as you call it, was the easiest way to go about fitting everything, including making a "clamp" to hold the tachometer in place. It looks to me the Hitchcock kit is a much nicer solution. I installed a different Daytona Velona model on my wife's Hunter 350, which matches even more closely, and with the smoke fly screen, it really looks sharp. Thank you for your videos. My wife and I enjoy them.

I enjoyed this today. A welcome return to the spannering vids! It's good to get back to watching you fettling - much better for our MH than the other (equally good, valid!) stuff covering all the threats we face these days. I like that tacho (the volt meter is a great addition) but I've already got myself a Tripper from India and got that fitted (eventually - thanks RE for changing the loom..) so my plastic badge has gone too. Maybe I could relocate the ignition barrel and fit the tacho there.. hmmm...

Hi Stuart. Yet another great video. I got the Hitchcocks tacho for my Meteor 350 a couple of months ago. What a good bit of kit. It works perfectly and it replaced the Tripper that I never used, giving me something useful instead. I don't need telling when to change gear, the engine feel and sound tells me that, so I set the ''shift'' warning light at 5,500 rpm just to let me know that I am approaching the ''red line'' (which is 6,100 rpm). I think that I have seen the warning light come on once, normally I don't get anywhere even remotely close to 5,500 rpm before I change up. Great bit of kit, looks good and a super addition to my bike, highly recommended.

Daytona makes a two button control thingy, available in black or chrome that connects to the two unused connectors in the kit. Makes it a lot easier to configure the rev counter.

Just finished my tach install. One suggestion, if you remove the right hand front parking lamp from the nachelle, you can see the screw that holds in the medallion. It makes it much easier to line up the t20 torx screwdriver bit to the screw.

Great video once again. Hitchcock’s has the same tachometer for the Super Meteor 650 which I installed. The pulse rate is the same for the 650 (1P, 2R) and with the Super Meteor we have the added benefit of having access to the Mode and Set buttons after installation. Overall the install on the Super Meteor is much easier than what I watched you go through on the Classic. I do recommend pulling the tank back for all of these installs unless you have really small hands, it makes it much easier to disengage the connector without possibly damaging it and also it makes it easier to secure the wiring after installation. Thanks for all the great videos and keep them coming!

My bike has a particularly narrow power band between 6-8 k so a tacho is essential riding for me. One of the things I commented on when the 350s were launched was the lack of a Rev counter but also the lop sided look of the dash.

Yet another great informative video. I have been thinking of fitting something in that space and pondering on amp meters like my old Bullet has but this plug and play makes life so much easier. Like many others I listen to the engine note for changing gear but as you say it does make the instrument cluster more complete and gives it a finished look.

Thank you for the great video!! When I drive my Himalayan, the rev counter helps me to appreciate all the nuances of the great Royal Enfield long stroke engine. It is ALL but linear, and the power delivery has a "strange" unique curve, perhaps more than the 350 ? You can tell... If it is a great pleasure too to ride these motorbikes without a look at the instruments at all, just feeling the gooood light vibrations she tells you, a rev counter can really help less experienced motorcyclists.

Hi Stuart, bought one after your video. Hitchcocks were fastic and arrived super fast. Great bit of kit. But it ended being a good few hours to fit, even with your advice. Tricky, to say the least. I set it at 4000r but when riding, was not right due to my style of riding. Took it out and increased to 5000r. Fantastic. Although I had to reconnect it again!!. Thanks for all your advice.

I so appreciated this video. The timing was perfect. I got stuck on step #9 ten days ago because I couldn't locate the red/black AUX plug, so I had to jump ahead to step 15 to lock down the tach so I could ride the bike. After watching your video, yesterday I unbolted the tach and finished the job including the programming, which was not easy either. I think the hardest thing I've had to do to my 2023 Classic was threading the 5mm allen bolt into the back of the tachometer - and I had to do it twice! In the past 3 months, I've done 11 mods to my classic including DNA air filter, FuelX Lite, engine rock guard, octagon engine guard, heel/toe shifter, bar end mirrors, adjustable clutch and brake levers, windscreen, LEDs for the headlight and little side lights, and removed the pillion seat and added a small luggage box with built-in backrest to carry small stuff - too small for a full-face helmet. I've done all my maintenance so far including 300 mile oil change and valve clearance adjustments. This was my first bike in 47 years! Your videos have been invaluable to me. Thank you for all you do. 🙂

Got mine installed today. Really hard at least on my All New Bullet. Unscrewing the badge was a pain as the back plastic cover protecting the inside of the lamp is getting in a way. The trick is to find this right position in the front of the removed main light where you can see the screw. Connecting rev counter is easy and doable without removing the tank. Now the hardest thing was to screw the tacho in. Mounting screw is just too short. I've put the screw without mounting bracket on the rev counter (only 2 rotations of the thread) and stick the counter into its socket to see how far the screw will stick out on the other side. Barely any tolerance, forget about screwing it more than 2-3 rotations. Taking into account that the part to which you are screwing it is bit slanted there is no way you will position it correctly. Spend 3h trying different tricks. I gave up and went for a longer screw. Total time 4h. Installing sump guard, engine guard, heel toe gear and a pair of panier mounts took me maybe an hour with some change.

Love your videos, man. I’ve been watching you for a few years now and what a help it’s been to have your insights as I’ve considered a RE purchase. I owned an old Honda 350 Four back in my 20s, and now at 50 I got the bug to get back in the saddle-found the new line of REs and your channel around the same time. Finally picked up my Classic 350 in signals gray about a month ago and I couldn’t be happier; both with the bike and also such a comprehensive set of videos on maintenance and modifications for the motorcycle here on your channel. Cheers from Vermont, USA, and thanks again:) PS-prolly won’t be doing this mod-a little out of my league and not necessary for me…but still loved the vid!

Great video Stuart many thanks, I’m going to get this for our 350 classic. I have exactly the same bike as you bought Aug 22, funnily with stadium barend mirrors, touring seats as my wife & I use the bike while touring in our motorhome ( fits perfectly in the garage). Since riding together last year around the circumference of Spain, Portugal we thought we’d give the bike a few more horses - so I’ve fitted the performance camshaft, air filter, decat pipe & fuelx lite. We’re not looking to go faster top end, as we only ride 2 up between 40 - 50mph, but wanted more power low down and the enhancements have worked treat with 25% power uplift. Didn’t want to change the bike, as it provides plenty of space for both of us and we love it, also the garage won’t take the additional weight of the 650twins. Thanks again for the video, happy riding RE brother

Installed a little Daytona Tach on my Hunter 350 months ago and love it. Fabricated a little bracket and placed it right where RE GPS would normally go, next to speedo cluster. Works nicely, but my only gripe is the needle lags behind in response time just a bit to what the engine is really turning rpm wise. Digital rpm reading is spot on but needle has a delay to it. But its still nice to monitor it every now and then at cruise speeds or idle, etc.

Yes, I definitely would like to see the pillion rider video. And here's a tip for trying to get sight of things in an awkward location: Take your smartphone and activate the camera. Switch it to "selfie" mode. Then slip the phone into the necessary position, and you can probably find an angle to aim it so you can see what it is that you need to see on the screen! Works great!

That was a very good 'how-to', Stuart. I'd agree with you that the Classic 350 probably doesn't need a tacho, but for some folks it would be useful. Certainly, it restores visual balance to the instruments. Re passenger comfort, I think that many riders would like to know if their better half will feel comfortable on the bike; if they are, it tends to minimise the whine coming from the back end... 😊

Good morning Stu. Another good video. A bit like doing some tinkering without opening the garage door doors. The new tachometer really looks good. I do use the tacho on my Interceptor to determine which gear I’m in, as it doesn’t have a gear indicator. I have an old Matchless which doesn’t have a tacho but that has only four gears and easier to know what gear you’re in. I don’t take a pillion anymore but would like to see a video on that subject if you record one. Take care.
