It’s therapy and part of my pre ride preparation, usually the day before. I tend to use the cheap shower gel these days with just the first few of your steps and a blow dry, finishing off with a liberal shiny coating of GT85 to the engine and cycle parts followed by a wipe over, then a coat of auto glym resin to the paintwork to finish off. I too have a chair in the garage to sit and admire the vision before me and ponder the next tinkering or riding session. My Father used to say that his cars always went better after a good wash and clean ! Your Classic 350 looks so good ! Many thanks for posting in such detail what is all part of the pleasure of owning a motorcycle, especially at a certain time of life 😉.

Couldn't agree more. Excellent. My bike is not that good, digital photograph can and are deceiving. Thanks for commenting and Ride safe mate.👍

Sorry, but to me this looks like bike washing OCD edition.Watched it through though.Nice looking bike.Saw the green version in a shop, and that looked spectacular.

You may well be correct. It isn't something you would do every time it got a bit grubby. But every couple of months or maybe before it gets put up for the winter. Maybe, It wouldn't hurt? Ride safe buddy👍

To each their own of course. Somewhat excessive for me. I rinse, shampoo with car soap, dry with my leaf blower, and then polish with carnauba wax. I tend to avoid messy weather these days 😉 Once in a while I will do a touch up using wax based spray furniture polish. I call it "ragging" the bike which also gives me an added benefit of spotting any loose bolts or other issues. Cheers 🥃

Absolutely agree, I was just curious to take it to the next stage, it isn't something I'd do ' after every ride', ride safe mate👍

Great stuff, used to be a bucket and sponge, now my garage looks like an advert for Autobrite - since retiring bike cleaning has become more of a ritual.

Brilliant, isn't it nice to have the time to just "tat" about. I agree it keeps us off the streets at least. Ride safe mate👍

Great bike, great video. One point Mud guards, don't forget to wash, snowfoam, rinse, dry, then treat under both mud guards. These get the most salt and muck.

That was jolly good Keith, your bike looks lovely. Not only does it make the bike look good but more importantly protects the finish. I know you were not using solid wax but I find if you ever do, a small paint brush is much better than a cloth for applying it to the wheels and frame tubes. Edward

Thankyou Edward, I'm sure you're correct, and I never really touched on Polishing the engine cases or wheels much. But it was just really passing on their advice. Ride safe mate👍

Nice video. The ceramic coating looks a good product, looks worthwhile for what is supposed to be a once a year application.

Thanks Ken, I think this particular one said it'll last 3 months. But they did have some more expensive creamy type ones that said a year. Thanks for commenting Ride Safe👍

Jumping Jesus, Shotto - Autobrite should be providing some sort of compensation to you. I mean, some swag, at least, since I went to their website after viewing this and am going to put together a package to buy. I'm wondering, though, what you did about the first step, the wheels. Did the products you used sufficiently spiff up the wheels, or do you think something else should be used? I used to use the Brillo pads with the integrated soap (they might have been SOS pads) to clean the wheels and chrome parts on my motorcycles, and they worked, but it wasn't much fun. Thank you for the video!

Jumping Jesus, fantastic. Wheels, Although they have specific stuff for ( car) wheels I found that the normal products did the job well enough. I think it would benefit on the chrome bits, the wheels, mudguards and engine casings with a good going over with Solvol Autosol occasionally. I thought the products were good but I wouldn't be doing all that every week! Just occasionally, my bucket and car wash isn't completely retired yet! They do a very good, relatively cheap chain and sprocket cleaner. I forgot to mention that. Thanks for commenting and ride safe 👍

Enjoyed the video, I only use AD extreme bike range nowadays as I find their products extremely good and work out cheaper in the long run. Hope you don't mind me saying, when using any spray on products, I tend to spray onto a cloth and use that as a applicator to avoid any over spray on brake disk etc. I still clean the disks with brake cleaner last thing just to make sure. Cheers

Nice video Keith, definitely worth the effort on a regular basis and I find it very therapeutic nowadays, it’s important to give your bike a good coat of your preferred protection once you have it clean, a good layer of protection makes it easier to keep your pride and joy in good condition and the modern cleaners and protectants are so much easier to use, all the best buddy 👍
