I have been trialling some different camera audio settings, which unfortunately haven't quite worked out as I had hoped, so there is some "clipping" in places. Sorry about that ! It's all trial and error with new equipment !!!
Although I don't usually go anywhere on a Bank Holiday, the roads were dry, it was fairly warm, and Clementine hadn't been out for weeks, so it had to be done !
We leave Burton in Kendal (A6070), turning Left onto Dalton Lane, eventually dropping into Whittington, turning left onto the B6254 towards Kirkby Lonsdale. Turn right at the T junction onto the A65, then left onto the A683.
I hope you enjoy this ride, and will consider subscribing if you haven't already done so.
Thanks for Watching.

Motorcycles used to show the nature of their country of origin. Until the Japanese motorcycles came along. That's what I love about my vintage British motorcycles as well as my other motorcycles. I love the aura of my BSA's and my Triumphs. My Sportster and my URAL side car outfit as well as my Vespa P-150 scooter 🛵. They are all different. That's what makes them so much fun 😊.

Good video Ian. The roads in England are absolutely disgusting aren't they, with all the revenue that's collected in road tax its appalling that they are allowed to get into this state! Glad to hear that the family emergency is over and that your Dad is making a good recovery.🙂👍

Exactly Ian ! Good morning, i steered well clear of my stomping ground in the Lake District over the BH weekend, having seen the parking carnage, including the mountain rescue not being able to get exactly where they wanted to due to all these idiots parking inconsiderately, glad you had a good ride out 👍🏻

G'day Ian, glad to see you back home and that your Dad's ok now. Weekends and holidays are always fraught in pretty areas, with the tourists wanting to do either 3 or 300 mph; either way, they're dangerous; we called them terrorists... I used to live in the middle of the Dandenong Ranges, to the east of Melbourne and the only time I'd go out on a weekend was when I had 18 tonnes of fire-truck underneath me; then I'd feel safe.

Dear Ian, Firstly, many thanks for the time you've taken in producing and uploading your video; I've enjoyed watching it very much. I hope you don't mind, but I have a question: have you ever taken your Classic 350 for a trip on the motorway? I'm just wondering how the bike, and, in particular, the engine, would cope with 70mph + speeds for extended periods of time. The reason I ask is because I'm on the precipice of purchasing a Royal Enfield Bullet, but I would very much like to take the bike over to France for some 'light' touring if I do....and that will involve spending several hours on the French highways. Any advice that you can give me will be much appreciated. Once again, many thanks for your efforts. Warmest regards, Neil (West Mids).

Hi Neil, glad you enjoyed this video, and will consider looking at some of my back catalogue too, various roads on there. Although I try and steer clear of big roads, I do have to ride on dual carriageway’s quite often to get to the places I wish to record. I usually cruise at about 60-65mph, as that is where I feel the 350 is at its happiest. I do pop over the 70 mph mark for overtakes as even at these low speeds, we do catch other vehicles up 🙄. As other owners have said, the 350, is a very under stressed lump, so if you desire, it will sit all day long at 70mph. You can change the size of the front sprocket, which will make cruising at higher speeds easier, but by how much, I really don’t know. You could also change the camshaft, many owners have done this already, which allows the engine to be more free revving, but the bikes are ecu limited to 73mph, so getting to 73mph will be quicker, and it apparently makes the bike more eager generally. Comfort wise, well for me with my knackered body, I would think after about 3 hours you will be ready for a break and to stretch your legs, which might coincide with fuel top ups, that said it does loads to the gallon, even giving it some 😉. Many people have done long distances on the 350’s, you just have to give yourself plenty of time. Hope this helps, and please come back and tell me/us what you decided to do. Cheers

Thanks Bob, yes they are. As for the levers, don’t hesitate. I have small (girlie), arthritic hands, with very painful thumb joints. The original levers, are a bit of a stretch for me, and after a long ride I was in agony. Fitted these adjustable levers, and found the perfect position, I did a video on them kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWeVgZhvfs6hmqssi=j743LLNf3YVXt65V , and still highly rate them now. Hope this helps.

There is a teaser video out about the upcoming Guerrilla 450, I have been talking about it for ages, but didn’t know its name then. Definitely a road going version of the Himi 450. kzbin.infoti1thIQmNA8?si=ShUVZQHwP1u4QhnC as soon as it hits the dealers, I will be out on it 😎 As mentioned previously, I can perhaps see RE using the new engine in other formats, however, purists definitely won’t like a Classic with a water cooled engine, just look how the sales of BSA Goldstar’s didn’t exactly go to plan, even though it’s a really good bike.
