Evening Ian, just enjoyed watching part one, was following your travels on the map, more lovely scenery. Same happened to us yesterday we were out and about in Bedfordshire, saw the road closed sign, my mate was infront with the sat nav, which didn't saw the road ahead was closed, couple of mile further on we had to turn around 😂. I'll be watching part 2 a bit later tonight 👍

What's your opinion for 2 up touring plus luggage, please??
@ianhughesroyalenfield
@ianhughesroyalenfield 3 күн бұрын
It would be unfair for me to post an opinion of two up plus luggage, when I haven’t ridden this way, it would just be a guess. Perhaps have a look on a Facebook (or similar) group and ask the question. Rear racks and pannier brackets aren’t available yet here in the uk, though some owners are buying from India. If pushed for an answer, you can tour on anything, but I would suggest there are better bikes out there for the job. Even the Himalayan 450, which shares the same engine and other components, but the ecu is mapped differently……obviously the Himi 450 stands taller, so if I was you, I would take a test ride on both, preferably two up, to give you an idea. Hope this helps.

Led a group of 4 yesterday through some twisty back lanes (to The Schoolroom at Low Bradfield, great eatery) and it never missed a turn. Pre planned route there via Google Maps to put waypoints in for preferred roads then back via a different route just putting in destination. Always more nervous relying on it when leading rather than solo ride. Only minor gripe when sending it from Google is it seems to exaggerate predicted journey time. To be honest, as I have been riding since 1978, when we were at our craziest, protective motorcycle clothing was largely unheard of on the road. We just had denim jackets, jeans and trainers. Then we saved up and bought a leather jacket (no armour). In the early 80’s I progressed to a two piece leather suit (still no armour 😂). I only started wearing clothing with armour in the 2000’s, but equally happy to not bother with it. There is no sure answer, the armour does offer a modicum of protection, but it’s not going to stop breakages in the event of a serious collision. The one thing I do insist on though, are sturdy calf length boots, and decent gloves. Speedwear do a wax jacket, which looks classy, but does have protection in the usual places. I think it’s called the “Pulford”, obviously more expensive, but looks cool 😎 Hope this helps, if not, just ask away.

On reflection it wasn’t that bad…I make it sound worse in the vids really. Just don’t let it lug, it will let you know when you need to change down, as it sounds like a bag of heavy spanner’s 😂. Also a bad time of year for you if you don’t like riding in c**p weather, but hopefully you will get a few half decent days 🤗. I look forward to sharing notes 😉

@ianhughesroyalenfield I've literally just spoke to our local dealer, they are hoping to have a batch delivered towards the end of November, probably not get much of a chance to run it in before April 😂😂

Your roads are terrible because of massive social spending on immigrants and multiple foreign wars. Like in the U.S., no money left for hurricane victims. We always prefer to spend our hard earned tax revenues on foreigners. ...and bad weather!

Good for the chap in the cafe. How can a pub not find room for 7 people? Oh well your money went to a good cause. As they were going up to the parking for motorcycles I thought that's a bit dodgy. I wonder if the town planners that thought that spot would be ideal ride bixe... I think not?

The town planners obviously just decided to stick em in a corner, out of the way. We walked into that pub, tart behind the bar was chatting to a bloke. We found a table, asked if they did food….NO ! Asked if they did coffee….NO ! Basically just unwelcoming, so went across the road. The lad couldn’t have been more different, moving things around to accommodate us, all with a very pleasant attitude.

Beautiful video of part 2 Ian more 20 mph around there than in wales. The roads were terrible, won’t they? And that parking on that motorbike place terrible. 👍🏍️🥷

Hi Derek, glad you enjoyed the video. Can't believe all the highways people are getting away with not repairing the roads, ridiculous. Yes 20mph really pi***s me off too. That parking was a case of "we can't fit a car in there, oh it'll do for bikes". 😂

I was thinking, that Interceptor sounds 'fruity' then, blow me, you mentioned it too 😁I must be septic🤣 That is one criticism I have about the Guerrilla ...... it could sound better. I was watching a KZbin video, last night, of a BSA Victor 441 (single) from 1970 and it sounded brrrrrrilliant! I'm sure the Guerrilla could bark a bit more but I wouldn't want to lose the end can, I quite like the way it looks. Catch you on the next video Ian, cheers, Phil (Somerset)

Good evening Phil, septic gave me a giggle. I too like the look of the silencer, and will probably go for a decat pipe at some point. They are available in India, but unsure whether they are stainless. No doubt the Brits will come up with something.

@@ianhughesroyalenfield Yeah, that would be interesting. The standard exhaust system doesn't sound terrible but I'm sure it could be improved ...... it's all this Euro nonsense. Having said that, I do really like how it crackles and pops coming down the box when slowing down ....... 😁A bit 'bad boy' 👍😋 And yes, the end can does look good on the Interceptor, too.

I enjoyed that ride out thank you with your fellow bikers. Question 4u , what mods have been added to RE Intercepter because it sounds loveley when pulling away. And give me a fugure between 10-30 Yep 20 mph bloody silly on those roads you were riding, Until the next time, ride safe, Bfn Mike Sunny Wales

Thanks Mike. The Interceptor has a pair of Enfield Precision silencers with baffles removed, and DNA air filter.. I am sure Andy said it has a different camshaft inside too. It sounds nice and fruity 😎

You do realise Ian that shortly the woke and do gooders will have it that someone with a red flag will have to walk in front of you as you do through their towns and villages so you don't alarm the locals.
