That was fun Ian, good job you didn't hit that stone jeez. Nice of you to stop and take the trouble to move it off of the road, I suspect most other road users wouldn't bother. I agree, the zorst does sound nice, luv the pops and crackles on the over run. Scorpio did it as you were passing stone walls on either side and it sounded ace. Never been down the lanes you took us down today. Gorgeous, with the sunlight coming through the trees and a superb photo stop with some gorgeous images. Filling up looked easy enough. Do you think the issue might be the way the nozzle is inserted into the tank and back pressure is causing the pump to cut out. I say this coz Iv'e noticed on a few bikes you have to jiggle the nozzle a bit to stop the cutting out; noticed it on cars too for that matter. Didn't know there were minor fueling issues with the 452's, that's a damn shame. But, you learn to ride round them, so they aren't an issue. Bloody Euro crap. Thanx bud, very enjoyable and interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing all these vids you have line up, gonna be good. Mind what your doin out there my friend.

Thanks Neil. Admittedly the hole in the tank is just a bit bigger than the nozzle, but you can’t put it fully in due to a bar across the hole. You do have to hold the nozzle slightly up, but it’s not a big deal. Some people have mentioned that the cap wants to shut all the time, but I haven’t had any issues with that either. I often use that lane to avoid Windermere, and the relatively boring section from the roundabout to the start of Kirkstone. When I went up with Mick (5D Traveller), we went that way. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers

Hi Ian, It's Been a while since I spoke, not watched your channel for a while as been busy with other things, but watched one of your videos and your riding the 450 Guerrilla, just for clarification have you purchased that or part exchanged clementine for it or is it a long term review bike as you have mentioned having to run it in. So I don't know what the status is with your bike? Anyway all the best with your videos Pete

Evening Ian, nice one on the rock removal, wouldn't fancy hitting that bugger! Nice video to watch as it's dense cloud and constantly pee'ing down here 🙄, On the fuelling on the Guerrilla I found it behaved better in the right mode, Steve at Manhattan motorcycles said one guy on a demo ride didn't like the snatchy throttle response, but he had it in performance mode in town traffic , it was better in eco mode in town and performance mode when you want to give it some stick on the lanes , when I got out of town I pulled over put it in performance mode ,and it was mint! 👌 , and don't know how some think it's difficult to fuel up? you don't even have to remove the filler cap and put it down somewhere? 🤷‍♂️ Cheers Mel 🍻

Thanks Mal. Yes, unfortunately I can’t remember who said it, but changing the mode has been mentioned. I don’t know if you can do it on the move though, be good if you can 👍. Hi Ian, another great Guerrilla video 😊👍 You must be past your first service by now and whacking the beast up to 6000 rpm. I'm enjoying mine but the vague fueling when pulling away is annoying and the friction less throttle twist grip ....... slightest bump in the road can set you into kangaroo mode 😮 I've emailed Hitchcock's to see if they've identified these issues, with their Guerrilla, and if they might look at any mods. Of course, once you get up a bit of speed, it's not an issue. Well done for your good deed, with the boulder 😁 Look forward to the next video, cheers, Phil (Somerset)
@ianhughesroyalenfield
@ianhughesroyalenfield 9 сағат бұрын
Afternoon Phil, nope I am still at 199 miles 🤬😂, even though there are another 8/9 vids waiting in the wings 🙄. The lightweight throttle does take a bit of getting used to, and lacks feel when compared to a normal cable throttle, so fully understand where you are coming from. Ironically, I didn’t get quite the same feeling on the Himi 450, so maybe the ecu mapping has been messed about a bit too much. I am hoping it all settles down with more miles, but I can honestly say, although it has caught me out a couple of times, I haven’t been in the Kangaroo mode as such. I have done a bit of town work too, and although it was fine, you really need to play on the gearbox, which surprises me, as RE were promoting it as a city bike 🤔. I am definitely still loving it though, and can’t wait to release the extra 2k revs 😈 Cheers

@@ianhughesroyalenfield That's ok then, just 112 miles to go ........ get a move on 😊 8/9 more videos? Brilliant!! With all the rubbish on TV, that's good news 👍 I did notice the slightly odd fueling on my test rides of the Himi and the Guerrilla but I was too busy concentrating on 101 other things on the test rides so didn't focus on it. It's not a major issue but I suppose I was spoilt on the Hunter as I know you'll appreciate with your wonderful Classic and it would be nice if there was some kind of simple fix. Yeah, I wouldn't label it as a city machine, either, because it really just wants to carve up the twisties ....... as you know 😁 Keep those videos coming! Cheers for now, Phil

Hi Phil, Mal made a comment mentioning about putting the mode into “eco” for town work, as it softens the sensitive throttle. Worth a try. What I don’t know though, is whether you can do a mode change on the move ?
@PAGallagher
@PAGallagher 6 сағат бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield Hi Ian. Whilst I'm still running in (nearly 800 miles now 👍), I always set the throttle mode to 'Eco' before setting off, the little symbol on the dash confirms the setting. So, those dodgy fueling issues, I mentioned, are in 'Eco' mode. I haven't tried but I think I heard someone say you can change mode, on the move, provided the throttle is completely shut, probably just easier to set it before pulling away. I think you made a comment about the seat being comfortable ....... totally agree and your comment about the brakes, again, totally agree. I also think the exhaust note is ok despite all the Euro restrictions and I do really like that 'snap crackle and pop' on the over run. And despite one or two tiny niggles, I really love being out on the bike, it's brilliant!!! ...... as you well know 😁😎👍 Just need some 'brilliant' weather now ....... please? 😊

Is it me or is this 450 that much quicker than than the 350? I originally wanted a Goldstar, the lack of a center stand put me off that one. I'm still climbing of my high horse though following my ZZR1400 that I had before ordering the Classic but on your vids, it certainly appears to be faster. Maybe it's just me, I'll have to wait 'till it lands.
@ianhughesroyalenfield
@ianhughesroyalenfield 11 сағат бұрын
With 20 more horses and liquid cooling, yes it is a hell of a lot faster than a 350. The nature of the engine tuning, means it is very free revving, unlike the low thump of the 350. To be honest, they shouldn’t be in the same sentence 😂 they are that different. This does mean, that the 450 doesn’t like being at low revs in a high gear…..it needs the right gear for the situation or it will bog down, unlike the 350 which will just pull out of it. The 450 excels beyond 4K revs, turning into a hooligan, though is ok in towns/cities too, but you do have to work the gearbox. Hopefully you have seen my first ride reviews 😉

@Enriquepad I actually bought Clementine barely used with just over 800 miles on the clock. But tbh, I took it a bit easy at first, but more so I could get accustomed than anything else. Then with about 875 (I think), we just rode as normal. She runs so sweetly, though I can’t remember how many she has done now. The main things are to not thrash, but equally not lug, they really don’t like that.

Hard to explain, but I had stopped a few hundred yards previous, to take some photos, then just as I was about to head off, a van came flying past (ridiculous for that little lane), I heard a thump, thought nothing of it, then came across this rock, and all became clear. Hmm, it rides ok at low revs, but you also need to be in a low gear. It has a very revvy nature, so not ideal for plodding around in my opinion. Maybe one of the 350’s would suit you better. They are happiest at lower revs, in higher gears. Hope this helps.

Morning Ian, I think you hit the nail on the head with saying about road test reviews on new, not run in bikes, most are riding bikes with only a few miles on them and Royal Enfield’s in particular need at least 1500 to 2000 miles on them before they are fully run in and running their best, all the best buddy 👍

A bit to short wheelbase, 1390 mm like all other RE's i think,the rear wheel is to under the driver, half is almost in front of the pillion😅. It's almoslt ugly. With longer wheelbase , 1500 mm like on Super Meteor seems to be way better, and a bit longer backcornered handlebars, but in that way it been to perfect i presume.

I had almost back to back test rides on both the Guerrilla & 400 Scambler (plus Himalayan 450). The biggest issue was my inability to ride the Triumph in traffic smoothly very jerky at slow speed, I suspect some sort of throttle mapping issue which this bike didn't have. The Guerrilla was a joy to ride. Rather bizarrely the Triumph dealer had not heard of the Guerrilla! A rather odd lack of knowledge I thought. On a side note we travelled along that canal from Droitwich (towns ending with "witch" have a salt connection) in the summer on a narrowboat, fab chippy near the lock in Middlewitch.

I have heard of some instances whereby the Speed 400 just cuts out for no apparent reason. Hopefully issues such as this will be fixed with an ecu remap. @@ianhughesroyalenfield Yes we were on our own boat doing the 4 counties ring... I've seen a few videos putting a 15 tooth front spocket on the 400's. I would be curious to see if that helped in lower gears... I do like the Triumphs looks but couldn't help thinking that if it had the Guerillas motor it could be a very special ride indeed. As for cutting out my 2003 Tiger 955 does it occasionally I used to get a bit stressed about it but if brand new bikes do it I think I'll chill out about it.. Ride safe.

We did the 4 counties, fortunately with our friends on their boat, a brilliant trip. Audlem locks are always fun, as is Heartbreak Hill and Harecastle Tunnel, obviously plus other highlights. Back to bikes, I see the Guerrilla as a more substantial motorcycle than the speed 400, it is a few kgs heavier, but it just feels a better bike all round somehow. Anything cutting out wouldn’t be good for me, I just wouldn’t have any trust in it going forward, as it would play on my mind too much. Cheers

It is a Beeline Moto 2 navigation device. It works from an app on your phone. It’s ok, but not great in my opinion. His coming over the white line was totally unpredictable on this straight section. Yes, loving Scorpio, will love him even more after the service 😂

Do Brit bikers no longer greet each other on the road? In my younger days in the UK we never passed one another without a wave of acknowledgement to fellow bikers. We do it here in Denmark.

I always either wave or nod, but sadly a good proportion no longer do. Brand and type snobbery plays a part, as does whether they are in a group. I acknowledge everyone, even scooters 😂

Great bike, are you planning getting a wind screen at all? What’s the little map directions display device you have?
@ianhughesroyalenfield
@ianhughesroyalenfield 3 күн бұрын
Thanks. No intention of getting a screen, they cause too much buffeting for me….not to mention the adverse effect it has on the camera audio. The little map device, is a Beeline Moto 2…..I have, and continue, to mention it. I have just returned from another ride ; I wanted it to direct me home from an area where my phone had H+ mobile internet, but unfortunately the Beeline app wouldn’t work due to low internet reception. I wouldn’t recommend them at all, better off with one that relies on GPS not internet.

Thank you Ian. I so enjoyed your video. Mostly the part at 10 minutes in where your guardian angel got you past the point of no return.

Car drivers are predictably unpredictable especially in scenic areas! Ride defensively! Slava Ukraine!🇺🇦

Agreed, I half expect them to drift/cut on corners, but not usually on a straight 🙄

That was a nice spirited ride Ian and Scorpion. I like the sound of the engine and exhaust as it goes along. I daresay after market exhausts will be available soon.

I am actually starting to think the sound from the exhaust is ok Simon, and find the exhaust silencer looks attractive. Might seem to be spirited, but just need to have a couple of extra revs to make it more interesting 😂😈 Cheers

A lovely ride Ian; that tosser in the Merc wont have a clue what that was about; some folk are just buck gormless i'm afraid. You'll have to come back when my birth sign is run; now that'll be fun. Till then, ride safe.
