wasn't too bad really. the new off road tyres worked a treat and handled the run extremely well and didn't slip once. classic 350 was carrying a good 160 kgs in weight too. just a few on the road and plenty of feral goats...lol not many about 100 in total...lol

A fantastic experience with the wife! So cheerful & is still beautiful ❤️ Well done Warro!⭐️

Nice one, Warro! Great for the pair of you to get out on the bike together. Congrats to you both on the 40 years together; we're into our 14th, but I've been down this road previously - and it proved very expensive! 😁

yeah i got out of my first time around pretty easy but that was 45 years back and i had zero assets anyway...lol so no real harm done there. wife said overall she enjoyed the ride alomg the river so more to come there. all the best!

Warro your very blessed brother. Here l am in Melbourne thinking about escaping and here you are living it. That is one very nice machine. I wouldn’t mind having a look at one myself. I would be interested in knowing how the bike would cope with all the traffic in Melbourne. Keep on keeping on and stay upright. 🖖👍👌
@ridewithwarro2 ай бұрын
i think it would be ok in traffic as its still fairly quick off the mark. the classic 350's are a bit on the heavy side at 195kgs or roughly same weights as the old 500's but again once on the move pretty well balanced too. if riding 90% sealed i'd just stick with the factory ceat tyres too as i've had no issues with those either.

They go very well in Melbourne traffic. Very torquey & stable. I was scared that it would be fat & underpowered, but reality is it feels really nice & gives you confidence. I wouldn't recommend it for more that a couple of exits on the freeway, but I'm in the outer east & it handles the traffic very well.

Thanks heaps for sharing the info and I have been invited to Ballarat to check one out. I still remember very well in late 70s early 80s Yamaha had a incredible SR500 single and if you didn’t use the de-compression lever the kick starter would nearly break your leg. Absolutely love single cylinder bikes.☮️👍🖖

I'm forever having people ask about 2 up riding on the 350 Enfields. Can you do a quick video not just about dirt but also about riding 2 up in general ie. suspension, highway speed, economy? Then I can direct people to go watch your video, because my missus wont ever go on the back of my Hunter haha
@ridewithwarro2 ай бұрын
the hunter is a lot quicker bike to ride than a classic 350 so my thoughts there - they are far different beasts. the hunter would just do everything much better. the only road bike i feel which would give the hunter a run for its money and its not an enfield would be the honda gb350

Awesome, is it still closed at the Kelso end?

Did you do the whole track? How was it?
@ridewithwarroАй бұрын
we rode along as far as the new section of road. i took a look at the steep climb and decided too risky to ride up with a pillion with no bike experience on the back. lucky too as i'd say if i had and considering she was sitting on the rear rack and id already experience wheel lift on the flats....i'd say on my part a very good call and avoided a very risky experience...lol i plan to go back solo with the new vstrom 250 sc as soon as its new off road tyres are fitted. i think its an easy ride to do. i'd say i could easily ride the vespa along it but i won't...lol

I am sure the classic never even new you had a chick on the back..😉🏍👍

Bridle track?...some kind of anniversary there mate?
@ridewithwarro2 ай бұрын
yeah i took her on this run having clocked near 40 years marriage...lol and added the photo when we first met and she was 20. wife appeared to enjoy the ride out too so plan another run maybe tomorrow and different direction. i think i might take the suzuki 250 Sx on next run. new tyres ran extremely well on the dirt. never missed a beat!

My wife and I did the same a few weeks ago, the Enfield handled perfectly, no problem. Only small country roads, for 170 km's The only problem we both experienced, I hope will be salved with a touring saddle... Looking forward to the next ride!

it ran fine but i was more impressed with the new tyres. never slipped or caused any drama and very sure footed under a fair bit of combined weight too. so in my case overall a very good choice and great on the dirt.gravel and light sand. have not been in any mud yet...lol
@ruahinesrider2 ай бұрын
@@ridewithwarro That's what bikes had was nobbly tyre's back in the 40's-70's when alot of roads were gravel & rough & driveways were rough.Not a bad idea 💡 having them these days.
