Hi there everybody. My bike is very close to clocking 19000 miles (30500kms approx.). All I can say about this bike is that it is pretty much flawless when your expectations about this bike is on the same line as its abilities and man does it have some ability. Here in India we use Enfield for whole lot of mountain rides, off road trails and the regular on-road riding. It does it all. The earlier ones were slightly un-reliable but this new one is plain gem. No breakdowns till now, only regular maintenance, which by the way is very cheap. Moreover, the feel good factor that one can get from this bike is unparalleled. Its a bike that you don't just ride from point A to B, its a bike you create memories with.

I have a 350 classic 2022 and a Meteor 350 2022 . I never get tired of riding them. Some people complain about the Low HP and the weight of the bikes, but I actually like the weight and the speed is plenty. Got my Meteor up to 65 MPH yesterday day and never wobbles. I also have done some off road gravel with both bikes.

Nice video. I am 73 years old living in Vermont, US. I bought this bike recently and it is a joy. Its part of a plan to gradually transition from my much heavier and more powerful Bonneville T100 to a lighter and easier to manage bike. So far so good. The parts supply issue is a bit concerning. I hope they sort that out.

l used to have the same feeling when riding my BMW R80/7 and later a R100RS back in the late 70s /80s. l used to change engine oil way before the specified time. kept the valves and the 'points' correctly gaped...plus keeping the carbs well balanced. It was easy to perform such tasks oneself ...The Bikes were as they came out of the factory in Bavaria because fancy bits just weren't available, plus the Beemer's didn't need them anyway. Now forty or so years later l have owned a Triumph Street Triple 675 for the last 8 years and I'm giving the Royal Enfield 350 serious consideration to return to the sort of riding you have described..... and l once enjoyed.

Very happy this brilliant bike continues to perform so well for you. It is a pity that Ceat tyres are not available here as they are only £35 in India so there is plenty of room to undercut UK prices. Thinking back to my previous bikes, the best tyres I have had were E. German Barums and Pneumants which had enough grip and excellent lifespan. I do not rate modern tyres as they are far too soft for real-world road use. After much thought I have decided not to buy a Classic 350 as I am too old to squeeze myself (6'4'') onto it. It is a great pity as the 350 engine would be absolutely ideal for me as I potter around the backroads.

I test rode a 350 (I own a 500 classic) I was struck by how smooth it was and how comfortable the position and the seat was. I live in Oregon, USA. You can't get anywhere without at least a little bit of Freeway riding. This is the problem. All of my joy riding is back roads but my commute is 60 miles of freeway where 70mph is the norm. I have done it on my 500 and there is plenty of power, it will do over 80mph, but it leaves you pissing blood and with paralyzed hands and feet from the vibration. If the 350 had just 4 more horsepower I could see it being the ticket. I wish RE would bring back the 500 but with a counter balanced engine.

A really good & Interesting vlog. More than impressed with the mileage you have done whilst you have had Ivy, especially considering the down time after the attempted theft. It’s great to hear of the fantastic reliability you are experiencing & that she lives outside & isn’t a garage queen. Agree completely with the mess RE have got themselves into regarding the spares situation, it doesn’t promote confidence with owners & potential new customers. I understand there is also an issue with the financial credit agreements with dealers, that can hamper spares orders, therefore prolonging the time a bike could be off the road. If ever I decide to move on from the Interceptor, then the 350 will be a contender. I really need to sort some rides out to that part of the county.

i would totally agree with that statement, but having said that more frequent oil & filter changes never do any harm if you can be bothered and don't mind spending the money, but manufacturers didn't just get bored one afternoon and pick a random interval out of a hat, so while i may do changes a tad early myself, certainly wouldnt do it at 25% of the time recommended. I know there are not in exactly the same category (the speed), but looking to upgrade from my first bike the Honda Trail 125 to my next bike. To each their own, which I respect. There are lots of satisfied RE owners out there, for sure. I rode the Hunter and found it bulky and sluggish for a 350. It took a long time/distance to get the Hunter up to 100/110 kph and it struggled to cruise at that speed. Yes, even RE's have vibration. I'm going with the Triumph Speed 400 (about $500US more in my country) as it's more of a performance bike. It weighs less, has double the HP and gets to 100/110 kph quickly with no problem cruising at that speed or even higher.

It was interesting hearing your oil maintenance schedule. I believe early intervals at 4K miles is prudent, but at 1500 miles the oil probably hasn’t degraded at all. You sound like a thoughtful person, just wondering why so soon? Do you really think it prevents that much wear to justify the expense? Doing the math, 12,000 miles @ $75 a change is $600 compared to my 4 oil changes @ $225…and every 3,000 is $300. That’s a big expense for a low revving motor. I’m not criticizing just curious bc you can teach this old gig new tricks. 👍
@aaron___6014
@aaron___6014 Жыл бұрын
Why is your oil change $75, my diesel car doesn't even coat that much? Your math and throw in the cost of tires, it's spendy. I'd definitely drag out the interval because you'll likely sell the bike or it'll get damaged or stolen before it matters. My Honda recommends an 8000 mile oil change.

The brakes were only an issue when riding with a pillion. I changed then when they were on the limit to Ferodo standard pads from Hitchcock's. Sintered pads aren't needed on a small bike like these, and the wear the discs out much faster. Brilliant that you are getting the 350, the green is a fantastic colour as well. Let me know when you get it. Stay safe, Dave

From what i've heard people saying about this bike, it's exactly what a classic bike should be. Perfect for small scenic roads, but it's not exactly made for going 110mph on the Autobahn which is also a good thing because it means Royal Enfield didn't try to cram a bunch of unnecessary stuff into/onto the bike.

I won't be changing my 2002 Honda cb 500s which has everything l want , beautiful, reliable, 57 bhp, spring shock, proper speedo and rev counter, none of these new digital cheap clocks you can't see . Royal Enfield have SMASH IT which these Classic Bikes imo but they need a to get rid of that Roger Ramjet R on the side casing of some models, it doesn't go with the Classic look and they need old clocks NO DIGITAL

Hi, the Honda CB 500 is a very nice bike, I had 2 of them when I had the bike training school. The only thing I would alter on the Classic 350 is fitting a kick-start. There is something special about kicking a bike into life. Ride safe, Dave

The parts problem is not only in England but in Canada also one of the reasons I don't buy Royal Enfield or Moto Guzzi because of that and they don't have a strong dealer Network. I hate to be off in a different Providence or even in the States and not be able to get my bike bike fixed.

Thank You @That bloke on a motorbike for your video we share similiar experiences I own the Royal Enfield Scram 411 with similar miles (15000) yes maybe not same model of motorbike but there seems to be a pattern meaning that Royal Enfield is producing a good product for now fingers crossed. I concur with your comments (experiences) regarding Royal Enfield motorbikes value for money cost of maintenance and how simple it is to work on. Just treat the motorbike well with proper maintenance service items and we should be fine. Replaced on my motorbike (Scram 411) has been similar bike chain and tyres again Thank You @That bloke on a motorbike ENJOY.

What's with the rusting issue in RE bikes - (1) does it happen in all bikes, or (2) does RE use inferior quality stainless steel, or (3) this is pretty much the best quality stainless steel any brand could use given the price point?

Its Mr T ur not ment to use synthetic oil as can cause clutch slip RE recommend semi synthetic this o ri g or x ring rear drive chain it's the worse chain ever used on m/c kinks more than the group The Kinks
@kevindarkstar
@kevindarkstar Жыл бұрын
This idea that fully synthetic oil causes clutch slip is frankly rubbish, take a look at the JASO-M2 standard which all motorcycle oils match, which is stated as suitable for wet clutch bikes, both air and liquid cooled the problem with semi synthetic oil is there is no way to know what percentage of the oil is synthetic, 20% or 30% maybe 50% you don't know, and as fully synthetic oil is way superior to any mineral oil, why not use it, OK I'll admit for these low power, low performance engine it's hugely over kill, but if you want the best protection for your engine then this is it 😊
@thatblokeonamotorbike

The oil I use is Motul 15 50 which is a semi synthetic oil. It's what was in when I bought the bike, so used the same since. I've not had any issues though on other bikes using fully synthetic, not had any clutch slip even on 1100cc Honda when pushing the acceleration. Ride safe, Dave
