I took delivery of the very first Himalayan in Bali. 330km on it so far. It is an amazing bike. Riding around Balangan to Nusa Dua using the small roads is magic. RE have done such a good job with this bike. I can't fault it. It's easy to flick around the tight corners and enough power even while running in. Can't wait to ring it's neck. Going to be so much fun(:-)

HI Mate. I'm looking at riding a 450 Himalayan from Australia to indonesia and all around. Can you tell me how you go with fuel and the octane rating. Does the fuel in indonesia run okay with out causing knock or engine problems? Is there anywhere to get it serviced and the valves done?

@@LincolnRandall-vy9nl hi lincoln fuel here is good. The 2 fuels are petalite and petamax. Petamax is about 90 this is the one I use. RE has a dealership here but the mechanics in Bali are pritty good. Valve clearance is simple for most of them. You'll have a ball riding around Indonesia, it's fun once you work out the traffic(:-)

Thank you so much for your wonderful recommendations and for sharing the hidden gems of the Northern Himalayan states! You're absolutely right-there’s so much more to India than just the more commonly visited places like South India, Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore. The beauty, peace, and unique culture of regions like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, and the North East truly offer a magical experience for travelers who love nature, adventure, and tranquility. It’s amazing how these places have their own unique stories, like the Tibetan communities in Ladakh and the Israeli village in Himachal, each adding a rich cultural layer to the already breathtaking landscapes. Your suggestions have definitely piqued our interest-we’ll have to add those destinations to our travel list! Exploring snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and experiencing the world's highest motorable roads sounds like an unforgettable adventure. Thank you for the love and support! We're looking forward to exploring more of the beautiful Himalayas. Sending much love right back to you, and we appreciate your warm welcome to the mountains. ❤️

For me having to ride in a 20+ group, numerous pit stops, following a set itinerary, missing dirt roads, arriving in village and finding your own accommodation and most important exploring at your own path is something I would dearly miss. But I get why people prefer this riding group format. You have severals ways to reach your destination, the most important is to enjoy the ride !!!

Hhhm some over-exaggeration re the dangers of Jammu and Kashmir. Snipers? Artillery? Really? The political unrest in the area mainly settled down years ago with most deaths over 20 years ago. Yes, there is a huge military presence but you would not have been allowed into an area if there was an active issue occurring. Been there several times so can speak from experience. The security checks are simple (albeit with some quite officious soldiers at times) but were much-more relaxed in 2023 than in 2018. As you state, the countryside is amazing as is the ride.
@thatbikersimon3 ай бұрын
I did try to send you the information on the situation when we was there but unfortunately KZbin has taken it down.
@death_parade3 ай бұрын
Snipers and artillery are only a concern close to the Pakistani border. By law, Indian Army isn't even allowed to use mortars, forget artillery, for internal security duties. But yeah, given the fact that the India-China border standoff has been ongoing in Ladakh since 2020, the Army presence in forward areas is bound to be high, and although Kashmir is not exactly Ladakh, but its still a good staging ground for troops rotating in and out of the superhigh altitude areas. Not to mention how overnight Army redeployed most of the I Strike Corps to this area. Crazy to think how lightly defended the entire Ladakh front was until the Chinese decided to poke in 2020. Now its a fortress.
