We also love the quad lock. It's like PC v Mac or Daddy v Chips: Quad lock v RAM mount. Bike looks great - Thanks for posting!

I didn’t even consider the RAM mount, it looks terrible!

Givi/Jivi? I never know either 🤷🏻♂️ Being a Classic 500 owner, Hitchcocks keep me poor. And as I am about to become a Himalayan owner too...oh dear 🤦🏻♂️ Great info here, thank you!

I have this GIVI protection (TN9050) installed on my Himalayan. The left part protrudes and continuously hits the left ankle. I have contacted the manufacturer, sent photos, and explained the problem. They have treated me correctly, but they tell me that the protection is designed that way. Other users have the same problem.

Trying to find those handgaurd mounts , have same problem. Help.

my swing arm chain side was full of water also under the seat likes to retain water and if the spring breaks in the safety side stand switch your bike will stall and it will have you off if you have less experience on a bike !

Barkbuster handguards are not the cheapest option but they are the best. If you find a Himalayan (or any other bike) with them fitted go have a closer look. Givi 3-point engine protection bars are fantastic! Had mine fitted when I bought my Himalayan :-) I went for the pannier option when purchasing the bike. They are super useful and this is the first bike in 30-odd years of riding I haven't fitted a top box to... yet ;-)

Henry A Thanks for watching and commenting bud! Yeh, I would have bought the Barkbusters but money was a bit tight so took a chance on the cheap versions.. not bad though! 👍

@@2WheelFreak Forgot to mention, I also shortened the sidestand by 8mm and welded on a bigger foot (55mm x 55mm) to prevent it sinking into soft ground.

Does your handguards touch your screen or speedo/clocks when full lock even if your screen is in the full forward position. ?
@2WheelFreak4 жыл бұрын
When I tried to fit the hand guards originally they hit the clocks and cracked the dash! I had to adjust the position higher so they don’t touch but there is only a very slim gap to the clocks now. RE replaced the dash for a broken compass and steaming up.

Sorry, just seen this message! I was out but not on the bike, I had to go back along the route from yesterday to recover my drone, as I crashed it into a tree and got it stuck!! 🤣

@@2WheelFreak did you find it?
@2WheelFreak4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the problem was how high up it got stuck!!! But, a set of ladders and 2 fishing rods taped together we got it free.. and surprisingly seems to be undamaged!! 😁

Hey Alan, I just got the same GPS bar mount. I am curious as to how you wired in the USB part. I am a bit of an electrical newbie and was shocked it had no connectors. While cool, I am not sure if it can be run direct to the battery or not. Thanks for the advice as we are using almost identically the same products on our bikes. LOL.
@2WheelFreak4 жыл бұрын
I added some connectors and ran along with other cables under the tank to the battery. Removing the tank is easy, there are vids on KZbin. 👍 Fairly straight forward, if I can do it you can too as I’m rubbish at this stuff! 🤣
