@@2WheelFreak great videos second time I’ve watched the series. Yes I did wonder that. Im looking for something for hotter climates. Think the linesman trousers might be a better shout. Thinking of doing this route next year on my T7, just looking for someone or a group to do it with for safety in numbers.

why going into a challenging section when you know you clearly don't have the skills. Stick to the main ACT. You are putting your health at risk...sigh Also 12:06 more important that your sheered bolt which is not recommended for off road as you found out...is you are missing your chain guide...

Agree, partly inflate the tube will help, also put the tube in the tyre first and then put on the rim, makes it easier to get the valve into the hole. Key to making any tyre change easier is getting the opposite side of the tyre deep into the centre of the rim to allow the tyre to move across as much as possible and allow the bead to pop over more easily. Also make sure when you inflate the tyre to over inflate it initially to pop the bead and centralise the tyre on the rim, not so easy to do with a foot pump, a compressor makes this much easier. Then reduce the pressure and set to desired psi/bar. Hope the misses doesnt mind you using the garden furniture cushions for this task :) Good one Alan 👍

Well done. Tricky bit is not pinching the new inner tube. I usually i part inflate the tube when it's inserted and before I put the second bead in the rim. Also helps to ensure inner tube doesn't twist.

@@rosscorindia9527 Thanks for watching! 👍😊 The 390 is a great little all rounder, I enjoyed my time with it. I haven’t properly tried a 690, it seemed way too tall for me! I changed to a Transalp as I was willing to take a heavier bike to go back to a twin engine and more comfortable road use.

My pal has a Himmy 411 and he’s a serious off road rider that used to ride enduro for a Honda team , he really rates its ability to travel off road not race but travel , his take is that its will look after you off road and get you where you want to go on the road , he has done over 23 000 miles on his all over Europe and apart from consumables and a leaky oil pressure switch he has had any trouble at all with it, he has a Honda firestorm too but rides the Himmy much more often as he doesn’t worry about it but im sure his Honda has its own bedroom 😁

What a naïve comment. They are well prepared for an ACT route even if that section that took them out of their comfort zone. You’re sitting there in the comfort of your home while they’re out their gaining experience. You sound like an arrogant know it all. Constructive critics mis fine but you are obviously lacking in that area as well. You come over as an armchair expert.

How did you prepare for the ACT? Did you have training or a specific offroad course?If you had 3 pieces of advice for a novice off road enthusiast wanting to do the ACT Portugal, what would they be? Cheers!
@2WheelFreak9 ай бұрын
We are in an off road riding group, we don’t get out that often and Andrew and I are surely the worst/slowest riders. ACT isn’t overly difficult, a compitent rider on an adventure bike with good tyres may well be OK.. although I would recommend some sort of off road practice first! There are optional hard sections that could be skipped. 1. Off road practice 2. Don’t go alone 3. Good tyres

Awesome work on having a real adventure. Not many dare to do stuff like this. If I can be an armchair expert, the fall at 8:10 was due to the very low speed and being sat on the bike, which makes it very difficult to quickly move to change the balance on the bike. I would have gone a tad faster, stood up and shifted my butt back. This reduces weight on the front wheel when descending, making the bike much easier to manoeuvre. Same deal with the 10:00 mark when you set off over those big rocks, standing on the pegs with your butt slightly to the back would have helped loads. My problem is I know the theory, but when I come to the real thing there's a 50/50 chance that I bottle it and completely forget what I'm meant to do because I panic. 😅
