Excellent story , Martin appreciate the cold weather ride to bring us local history,brings back memories of bike being only mode of transport Serving my time apprentice mechanic eaglesham motors having to ride from rutherglen hail rain sleet or snow all good fun and it didn't cost me a thought, it was a case of no choice.so keep up the good work,keep safe very interesting. Steve

Thanks again Steve. I really don't mind the ice beats the rain sometimes lol. A few days ago tho I practically needed a crow bar to wedge me off the bike.. No fun sometimes eh 👍

@@WeeJaunt I know what you mean remember back in the day praying for a traffic light or something to hold you for a few minutes so that you could wrap hands around the down pipes,no heated grips then even if there was wouldn't have had the money to buy them lol

I know you use lots of salt on your roads, it's bad for your bike. Here in New Zealand we don't use salt on our roads, we use Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) instead. When I was motorcycling in the UK back in the '50s before I emigrated to NZ, I was used to riding on rutted ice, there is a knack to it, isn't there?
@WeeJaunt2 жыл бұрын
Aye Salt ain't good. Gotta keep it out of the electrics especially. Hosing down the bike every other day just to watch it freeze to the frame lol. Aye gotta keep your arms loose and your wits about you on the ice. Thanks again Keith 👍
