I did it and man it is much needed for people with a Himalayan. It has changed the bike completely. It’s not like it makes it a 600cc sport bike, but the responsiveness, startup and smoothness has been exponential. The step by step was super helpful too Ben!!

Ben, wonderful video. A small correction if I may. The only drain hose there is, is the one that comes from the tank that vents the fuel vapor. The throttle body doesn't have any vents per se. The tube that is in the throttle body is basically the feed tube from the EVAP canister which basically re-routes the fuel vapors that escape the fuel tank. Make sure that bolt or a plastic plug is zip tied to the mouth of the tube that connects to the throttle body and keep that tube AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE to prevent any cracks in the tube and what does a cracked tube do? It lets the TB suck dirty air through that cracked tube and that isn't a good thing. Keep the throttle body tube no more than your index finger's length, get a good quality plastic plug or a snug fit bolt, and zip tie the circumference of the tube so that the bolt/plug doesn't get loose and you're set. Hope it helps!

Hi Vijay . Kindly watch the video again.

@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Ben, I did see the mod you did, but it's still better to trim the tube and get it tucked in nice and under the fuel tank and lock it with a plastic plug. It's not a bad job what you did, but can be done better! :)

just bought a used 2021 himalayan (US model). your videos are the best for learning how to fix all the issues with my bike. Do you know if my model 2021 Euro 4 if i will be able to remove this system? * i just checked the bottom and the evap is right above bash plate even though its 2021. I plan to remove it. should be fine even if its 2021 i guess

Thanks for the great videos Ben! Can you please explain why do you recommend to shut the throttle body hose with a bolt? Is it originally shutted when connected to the above skid evap system? What happenes if this hose is missing and not connected under the tank (I've noticed it today while trying to tune my idle rpm..., Can it be the cause for idle rpm issues?)
@YellowroadsterJ2009 күн бұрын
Why do you re-route the hose from the throttle body that you have blocked to the front of the bike. Can it not just hang down by the swing arm.
@marcelobybike7 күн бұрын
Great explanation. One question: after you removed the crankcase protector system, was there a crack in the plate? I'm asking because I heard that some Himalayans had a crack in the crankcase protector plate after removing the evap. Thanks.
@Ohio_Motonaut2 жыл бұрын
Just add a dense foam or rubber block in place of the evap to help prevent denting.

Hello ben! I have been watching your videos for quite a time now and they have helped me to understand a lot about my himalayan. I actually needed your help on a issue i have been facing for a month now, i had submitted to the royal enfield service centre for like 4 times but they couldn't find the problem. So the problem i have been facing is a specific friction sound coming from the right rear side with every rotation of the wheel. No sound at higher speeds but at till 10 you can hear it loud and clear. There are no visible friction marks on rear disc or the rim. No issues in brake pads and callipers too. Would love to hear from you.

Hi Ben, huge fan of your videos. Thanks, however I deleted the Evap kit just as instructed on your video, but my tank pressure increases exponentially and my tank is now cracked where it meets the seat. Any idea what could be going on? I’m thinking of reinstalling evap before I get new tank
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 ай бұрын
@@quinnnordwick2285 that’s a first . You tank should still be able to vent / breathe from the lid . Plug ONLY THE THROTTLE BODY HOSE . Leave the other hose hanging without plugging . Also don’t plug the water drain hose .
