Royal Enfield Hunter 350 vs Classic 350 - Ride down to Rider Mania 2022 | Feature comparison

Rider Mania is the largest gathering of Royal Enfield motorcycles and owners in the country, and after a break of two years thanks to the pandemic, it’s back for 2022. So we here at team ZigWheels decided to ride down to Rider Mania 2022 in Goa on not only the most quintessential Royal Enfield, the Classic 350, but also it’s younger, urban sibling, the Hunter 350. The point of this 500km long journey from our HQ in Pune to Vagator Hill Top in Goa was not only to have some fun participating in all the festivities, but also to see how the Hunter, a primarily urban motorcycle, would fare against the Classic - the defacto choice for highway riding.
The journey not only included arrow straight highway stretches, but also some lovely B-roads, the super fun winding corners of Amboli Ghat and some horribly broken stretches of road. We compared how these bikes fare against each other in terms of highway comfort, fuel efficiency, tackling twisties and rough roads. The result might be a little obvious already, but nevertheless, the ride on both bikes was nothing short of fun.

I am buyer of hunter... ya ya it's a urban machine, heats up, seats firm which in turn hurt my...., shocks are hard.. handle bar is not upright,,, all these short comings were solved... I changed to custom seat , back rest.. used spacers to make handle upright,, tyre hugger solved slush,, single cylinder crash guard is gave good looks,, small visior gave race look.. lamination on tank safes from minor scratches... now from roadster it has become cruiser

Having owned both the Himalayan and the Interceptor, and as a more mature rider, I do not have the urge to push a bike through the corners, prefer to enjoy the ride, so, the Classic is the bike of choice for me....... I also found the standard seat on the Himalayan after 1 hour not the most comfortable, especially on a very hot day as the memory foam molds to your body giving almost zero airflow around ones derriere....... Great video, thank you guys. I intend to buy one or the other, probably the hunter. But I am much lighter rider than Priyadarshan! Put two bags of cement on a bike and see how it changes the quality of the ride. Because that's one thing I see quite often reflected in small motorcycle video reviews, the incorrect size of the rider. I mean it's like criticising your daugther's bicycle. Rule nr. 1: Choose a reviewer that fits the bike! Still great video, thanks!

I get your point dude… but these bikes are designed for riders (not kids), and riders come in all weights and sizes. Plus, we’re not going beyond the manufacturer rated weight limit in any case. I’m about 80kg and Arun is about 90. Both of us with our full gear on would be about 10kg extra. On top of that, a stiffer suspension gets better with a heavier load rather than a lighter one. But the Hunters issue isn’t a stiff suspension, it’s a lack of suspension travel compared to the Classic. The Hunters smaller wheels are also less stable on bad roads compared to the Classic and alloys are also less pliant compared to wire spoke wheels. By the way, I was on the Classic and Arun was on the Hunter.

@@PriyadarshanBawikar Oh I get that the bike can take 100 Kg on paper... but if you are over 70ish kg, it's probably not a good match, that's all I'm stating. Let's look at it from the other end though; Many (most) big bikes are WAY too heavy for my 55 Kg. 250Kg bike weights almost 5 times what I do. 5X! Imagine yourself riding a 400Kg bike and you get the feeling. But on paper, I do have the license to ride them all. And that's what I like about the Hunter, it aims at the lighter rider/commuter. The small engine pulls better with my light weight and the suspension is absolutely adequate, the same goes for the seat. It would be amateurish to think that one bike size would fit everyone, even if it works on paper.

@@Staromil point taken… the Hunter is more of an urban bike for younger riders anyway. And that was the point of this comparison in any case. To see how well a urban bike holds up against what has been the do-it-all RE king so far - the Classic. Wt 37kmpl for Hunter mine gave me 25-28kmpl on highway cruised at 90-100 . I wish I could also get the same mileage

Great video bros! I like both of the bikes, Im really torn as to which one is best for me. But what I liked the most about this video is the beautiful shots of the country and ocean. And what ever food that was on the table that looked like bbq ribs also looked really good!! I guess we are not so different after all. A relaxing cruise on some back roads followed up by bbq ribs and sweet tea. Yall would fit in real good down here in the southern states of the US. Cheers!

Classic is better almost in every aspect, be it mileage, performance or touring ability. Hunter struggles badly post 80 kmph. Classic feels very effortless at 100 - 120 kmph, but only problem is it's weight in the city. It would drive away many to buy Hunter I guess...

In northeast there are roads on no roads and on stretches there shouldn't be roads. Anything with a good suspension setup is always preferable. New RE, i don't recommend people to buy old Street or Street Rod. Yes they are easily available under 3.5-4 lakh but the maintanence cost is pain in the ass, some Harley parts are even costlier than some liter class bikes parts

Hey dude… sorry about that. After 4-5 takes of shouting my lines over all the noise of Rider Mania, I was a little zonked and my throat was screwed. Unfortunately Royal Enfield accidentally shipped our long term classic to rider mania for other media riders. So they gave us a replacement bike at the last minute…. Literally the day before the ride. And they didn’t have the indicator in stock to replace the broken one.

I Ridden hunter 350 with mutual frends who purchased.. for 6ft tall riders this seat position really irritates, this bike only for short riders 🙄🙆. My Honda Hornet itself Looks big and Macho compared to this bike In Looks aswell as while riding
