Thank you for the review in English. The RE Interceptor is a great affordable bike if you keep it standard & just ride it. Once you make the modifications it ends up more expensive than a 900 cc Triumph Stree twin. When it comes to selling, the Triumph will be a far better investment.

Thanks Lukas, it's a good review. I too have done over 33,000km on my almost 4 year old Interceptor and I love the bike. That included a 7,000km return trip from northern Queensland to southern New South Wales which was done without the slightest hassle and in comfort (and I'm an old fart!). Like you, the only issue I had with the bike was the instruments fogging up, but the dealer replaced them without question. I must enquire about the front brakes though - I hadn't heard about them having problems. Good riding and stay safe.

There is a KZbin video by Yammienoob showing how they replaced the front brake master cylinder with a better one and fitted braided lines and brake pads. Made a huge difference.

An update on my bike - just recently the speedo started playing up, intermittently dropping to zero then flicking back up to speed. Now I'm waiting for a replacement sender unit. The local dealer hadn't heard about any other RE's experiencing the same issue although a quick search on KZbin found that it has happened to several other Interceptor owners, and even one with a solution (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qabbnYupepWeZ9k)!

I understand that you only changed the relay .....but then you changed the brakes, the clutch cable and a few other things that seemed to have gone wrong. It didnt seem to be that reliable. I like that you have reviewed after 30K. So many professionals ride it for a day and just say good things to make the dealer happy.

Yes in deed, i guess every bike needs maintenance and every bike i own, i always change things on it for my personal needs. I bought the RE because i liked the look and i was hoping not to kill myself with it because it is not so strong. Now my perspective has changed.

Man, watching interceptor reviews makes me want to buy one. Just something to check, I think your front tyre might be on backwards. Generally the tread should look like a V from the front so that rain water is pushed out from the center as the tyre rotates. The way it is now, the water is pushed to the center. Might also contribute a bit to the noise you were complaining about and possibly the uneven wear. There's also normally an arrow on the tyre to show the direction it should roll. At 3:46 you can see the back tyre's (on the right way) arrow... You'll be fine in the dry, just be careful when it rains. But thanks for a grea review. Stay safe.

I have a SHINKO TourMaster front tire in 110/90 × 18 and the arrow on the sidewall shows to mount it with the "V" backwards. Must be a new trend.
@thatren7179
@thatren7179 2 жыл бұрын
@@frederickwoods5943 oh wow ok. Yeah I think it's probably best to just check each tyre when we are fitting them from now on. The ones in the video I think may be backwards. I see an arrow on the tyre pointing the other way and it would be strange for the back and the front to be inverted. But I may be wrong, and I'm always happy to be corrected and learn. Thanks for your comment. 🙏🏽

i checked: on the tire it says that as a front tire it is mounted in this direction and as a rear the opposite way. The rubber is very stiff, not very good in the wet but lasts for more the 10.000km. i would not mount it again, the front tire should be more street orientated in my opinion

If the BSA goldy becomes available in bike shops people say this RE will be its main competitor. I predict sales ratio of at least 20 to 1 in the Enfield's favour.. The BSA is horrible on the eye. Huge radiator. Rear light unit that's awful to look at and in the worst position. Forks that look terrible. Fake bits on the engine IE pushrod tube. Gearbox. The BSA looks rushed and not thought out properly. The RE just looks like a natural progression from the 1960s. The BSA sounds terrible the RE sounds good.

front sprocket 1 smaller tooth would give you slower acceleration but higher top speed, and lower rpm at highway speeds so better gas consumption. opposite of what you said. there was a cut though so if you dropped a tooth on the rear sprocket then everything is opposite what I said above and agrees with what you stated

Thank's for your review. but I have a question: how fast or how accommodating was your RE dealer with warranty work? I had to wait 9 months for the defective turn signal switch to be repaired. Wobbling is not a guarantee but normal because it is forbidden to let go of the handlebars while driving. And my speedometer fogs up so much that you can no longer read the numbers. That too is normal. My dealer says he can't do anything because these cases are rejected by the general importer in Austria. I also have problems with the clutch when it's cold. I can only start the first 5 km with a slipping clutch. My dealer says he can't find anything. My RE is now 1 year and 2 months old and has run 6000km

With all the performance mods that you did like the booster plug and front sprocket, how's the fuel mileage? My focus on mine is fuel consumption. Such a great little bike but sometimes it drinks so much fuel if i play a little. I mean sure it's fuel efficient if you manage your throttle but when you get a little frisky she seems to drink as much as my 1600cc bike.

@@MathisMotionPictures its not that bad. 34km/L is my highest if i religiously shift at 3k or below but sometimes i also hit 20km/L if i get playful.
