Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 BS6 Scrambler Build | Project Hare Scramble | Sagar Sheldekar Official

Sarge teamed up with Royal Enfield as a part of their global "Bolt-On Build" Initiative to transform an Interceptor 650 into an off-road capable Scrambler! The premise of Project Harescramble was to stick to off-the-shelf parts that are easy to source and no modification to the frame so that the build is easy to replicate by anyone who owns an Interceptor. After a proper offroad shakedown, Sarge deems the project a success and below is the comprehensive list of all the parts used for the transformation.

If I heard correctly, this is your first build. Talk about hitting it out of the park, as our American friends would say!! I adore this design it suits the Interceptor so well, the proportions are perfect! If I walked into a Royal Enfield showroom and saw this I would genuinely think that it was a factory design, as an upgrade for the Interceptor platform, which is high praise! I would love to see this come to Canada as an option. That beautiful parallel twin 650 would be so much better suited to go up against the Moto Guzzi V7 Scramblers, and the first gen Ducati and Triumph bikes as well. That, and if Royal Enfield could keep the price of your bike reasonable, like all their bikes are I think RE would have a huge hit on their hands. Of course if something is released in Canada and not the USA, it almost instantly becomes a cult icon so opening this bike up to the US market a year or two after hitting the road in Canada would almost assure hungry American buyers. Absolutely agree , maybe sarge is still a little behind Ryan, due to finance, but the level of effort is also sublime... man maybe i should've done reviews too when i was in virginia , I've definitely ridden so many more bikes than sarge and more bikes than 99% of people. I've ridden all litreclass supersports , all hypernakeds, classics, ( other than the Motoguzzi V9) , have rode advs like the BMW GS series, Triumoh tigers , all sport bikes, sport tourers ( not baggers) , and supermotos( still waiting for the 701 sm or the 690 SMC-R ) , dirt bikes, Btw , I used to race a 220hp R1 at the virginia international raceway

If RE built this bike, it would have to comply with Euro 5/6, so would be quieter, heavier, less powerful and much much more expensive than the interceptor. Luckily, we have guys like this who can show us what can be achieved, even if in many countries the bike would be illegal to ride on public roads.

Stunning build, congratulations and thanks for sharing! I remember 30 years ago when Enfield bikes, even the so-called 'export' models, were literally complete junk. Poor quality castings, shoddy electrics and all-round poor quality control. I lived in India around 15 years ago and they were still terrible even then, and there were questions on whether they would even survive the competition as the economy opened up to imports, or just go the same way as Ambassador cars. It's phenomenal how the company has been turned around, to the point were they are being judged alongside the best (check out the Fortnine video on oil contamination tests). I love the Interceptor 650 as a scrambler platform, and the Continental GT is also a beautiful bike in its own right!
