Thanks for the great video. I've gotta say...fabricating spacers in multiple places, using a lathe, etc...has anyone out there bought any TEC parts for the Interceptor that actually just fit and work out of the box? I sure haven't. I like the idea of supporting a UK-based small company in this niche community. But I'm starting to wonder if it really is any better than just spending 1/3 the price for what appear to be the same cheap Chinese-sourced mediocre quality generic CNC parts on Ebay or Amazon. 🤔

Prior to getting my Interceptor, I bought a set of Lucas-type indicators for it (as fitted to BSA/Norton/Triumph in the 70s). Thanks to your guides, they are finally fitted. Had to replace the headlight brackets with narrower ones similar to yours, but with an indicator mounting hole, as the original brackets were too thick for the screw threads. Lucas ones only had a live wire, so I added an earth wire as the brackets are non-conductive. Now the bike has bigger indicators than before - the opposite of your minimalist ones - but the fitting principles were the same.Cheers, Baz.

Hi Dorman, had the same issue with the spacing on the headlight bracket but couldn't find any 10mm spacers to get it sorted...you wouldn't happen to have a link for the spacers online would you? many thanks for the video btw, i did help me a lot and now just hopping to be able to get hold of the spacers to finish the job! cheers!

A shouldered bolt could work as well. Harder to find the proper size of course. Great work!

My factory brackets are slightly pointed to the left. I've tried to get a wrench in there to adjust but man it's tough without taking it all apart

Looking good! Looking to do the same with my RE but having trouble removing the hex on the top yoke. Any chance you know the size?

The socket head screw in the centre is 10mm. The hex heads either side are 22mm. This information is probably reaching you too late to be of any use. Sorry about that.

Hi mate, do you know if the original headlight supports can be removed just by screwing the bolt on it (they seems made of two pieces joined together) whithout removing the forks? (see 3:05)

Bit of a marmite mod, my mate just painted his original ones black and personally I prefer the look of them , to the more spindly replacements, just think the fork brackets look to thin. great looking bike otherwise. As they say its always personal taste.

Are these the brackets that TEC Is selling especially for the RE or are they the ones that they make for the Triumph? Seems to me that if they are producing them for the Royal Enfield then they should not have to be modified to fit the Royal Enfield.

dade071 - they fit the fork legs perfectly, but I wonder if the spacers are needed perhaps because the triumph has shouldered bolts or something? Not sure 🤔

I completely agree. TEC should supply spacers for different bikes. It’s not TECnically difficult, is it? Nor is it expensive. I’ve seen a TEC video on fitting their bar end mirrors where they point out you have to do a bit of filing... FFS.

@@malcellison8831 Jesus fucking Christ, i just bought the led kit for my interceptor, che handlebar mirrors, and the exhaust, Evey single kit that i bought had something missing, like the resistors for the LEDs, new exhaust bracket for the cannon silencers, and now i need some magic for the handlebar mirrors. Great videos, very helpful. I am looking to install new headlight brackets from TEC, but I need to know how to remove the handlebar unit. Do you know the nut size and torque wrench settings that this unit requires? A video that shows this would be very helpful

Stuart Cummins not sure what you mean, I show how to remove it in this video? Undo the 3 Allen key bolt in top clamp and pull up. Rubber hammer tap centre and help it release.

@@DormanDiaries torque value in N-M. It is the rotational force with which you tighten the bolts (using a torque wrench)

Just by stickers/transfers. Not necessarily a long term option unless you clear coat over the top as they will get damaged eventually.

Igor Melniks you’d probably be ok with a couple of thick washers. It’s just I wanted to square it up. I’m a bit OCD in that regard!

I'm mostly concerned about the weight of this bike. These headlamp brackets look as if they might provide some weight reduction, is that true and just how much ? Are the original brackets metal or plastic ? The silencers are heavy but I don't want a louder bike, is there an alternative silencer that is lighter but no noisier ? I intend swapping the 12V motorcycle battery with a Lithium iron phosphate drop-in replacement soon and substituting titanium tube for the 22mm steel tube clip-ons on my GT to reduce weight. Even after all that this will still be a heavier bike than I'd like it to be.

They are very well made but yes, they are on the top side price wise, but way better made and thought out than any others I have seen. I've made the mistake before buying average only to buy again. Not selling anything I remove at the moment. Cheers
