Sir I have been following all your videos regarding the Interceptor 650. Being a proud owner of one and having clocked about 3000 miles I agree with every point that you have brought out. I do agree that the monochrome orange tank does require a bit of detailing to add to the visual appeal. I have resorted to white race pinstriping with a thin gold edge. Being a sticker it is easily removable. Will certainly consider these tank pads once I decide to change the look. Also the tankpads made by RE for the Classic series also look quite good. Cheers for the lovely videos on Interceptor. Pray keep them coming thick and fast...

Motone knee pads I received this week by express shipping to Thailand used 3M LSE 300 adhesive. Fast shipping and excellent service. Different formulation though to the backing but still very sticky. Now mounted on my Interceptor. Dealer here says these are the best pads he has seen.
@janjansen75564 жыл бұрын
just finished mine on the interceptor. Just one addition to your procedure: with the protective sheet still on, I held the pad against the tank untill it was exactly where I wanted it, then held it in place with one hand and with the other I marked the upper outline with a black whitebooardmarker (my tank is black). And then proceed the way you showed. Also I used a tailor's measuring tape to measure the distance between the pad and the tankbadge, the seat and bottom of the tank, and then draw small marking stripes on the other side of the tank, so I have allready just about the same position, then proceed the same way, with the protective sheet on, hold it when it's inthe exact right spot, boarmarker etc. It's a good procedure for people who feel a bit insecure, like me ;-)

Hi Stuart. Just fitted these to my Inter. I was trying to keep a bit of a 60s feel in the appearance so along with the stainless aero rack and black tank they look terrific. Great video, and great timing, as always! Was just in the market for some nice knee pads, but found most of the pads you see in Interceptor videos kind of ugly. Sometimes it were the pads of the Classic 500, some other owners used some kind of moped pads. None of them did the bike justice, most times too small, sometimes of odd shape. But now that Motone pads are the real deal! The shape and fit is spot on. I got the pinstriped version from Motone, and they look absolutely beautiful on my black Interceptor Mark Three! Getting them on the bike was a breathe thanks to your great advice. There’s only one thing that bothers me: The smell of that pads is.... holy cow...🐮😳 You stated that the pads consist of natural ingredients. I strongly believe that’s true, but some of the ingredients must be skunk tails and a good chunk of Stilton from the time when Stanley Baldwin was still prime minister 😂 In my ignorance I opened the bag in my apartment, one of the moments you remember even after years...😄 Any suggestions how to get rid of that smell? Already shampooed the bike, but that didn’t help that much.

Has Motone considered making purchasing an entire collection of parts for a bike easier? For example, All the Union Jack water cooled T120 brass parts on one page? Harley does this somewhat well on their web site. This would greatly reduce the amount of searching and clicking needed, as well as "surfacing" parts that may have otherwise been missed.

This process did not work for me. In 65 degree Fahrenheit weather when I tried to pull the pad off to adjust the position the adhesive started coming off the pad and sticking to the tank. Luckily I was already close enough to where I wanted to be that I was able to push it back on and leave it there. Unfortunately I lost the nice tight edge you mention. That pad now has a fine gap with visible glue vs. the other side that is tightly sealed. Not a huge deal but the kind of thing that annoys you every time you notice it again. 😬

@krola10234 жыл бұрын
Just put my pads on the INT. My only negative comment echoes a previous commenter... having measured, eyeballed and measured again, I had one tiny adjustment to make on the right side and when I lifted the pad, an approximate 1x3cm piece of adhesive remained on the tank and just peeled off the pad. 24C in the shop, in the shade. Now there’s a barely perceptible gap along the top edge of that pad. They’re not coming off, but when you’re obsessive, it’s a bit annoying. For whatever reason, the adhesive wants to leave the rubber pad quite readily. Still... they look great and are of the highest quality otherwise!
