You're knocking it out the park with these videos lately guys! We've followed you for many years now and the editorial content and production quality just gets better and better. We've loved the Father/Son (or Son/Father) relationship throughout this time of course and were a little sad when we thought the 'Ole Man was potentially relocating to Spain. But when he joined you in Rutland - normal service was resumed 🙂. Finally, manufacturers are waking up to realise that you should now be considered every bit as relevant as the mainstream journalists for bike-related content and you're no longer being ignored by any of them - thanks entirely to your hard work, determination and self-belief. WELL DONE fellas! Right, I'm off to watch more of your videos which have unfortunately become a small back catalogue for me due to my work commitments and other distractions 🙂

I honestly can't get over just how good this thing sounds. This is exactly the kind of bike I have been looking for. Growing up our property was surrounded on 3 sides by 250k acres of national forest. There was sooo many different trails that we had to have extra gas on our 4 wheelers just to make sure we could make it back...but a bike like this would have been super enjoyable out there.

Great review guys, I was at the nec on Monday and I thought this was the bike for me. I’ve owned two of the interceptors since they were launched because I love that engine but couldn’t get the riding position how I wanted. Sat and stood on this and it was spot on . Pity Ive just bought a guerrilla 450, I can see me trading it in. I’m in Goa on the 27 th January for two weeks so I’ll hire one just to confirm it. I have a Hunter 350 as well, as a second bike, it’s actually the second one I’ve bought because I missed the first one so much 😅 Enfield seems to get it right nearly every time since Sidarth took over. Great channel by the way 👍 You’ll love Goa. All the best Brenden.

Nice review guys. I agree with everything you said. It has possibly the best sounding factory exhaust sound I have ever heard. That 350 you showed by the sea side had the front mudguard that the Bear should have also had. Your idea of a relocatable gauge would be spot on. My only other wish which might be just personal to me is I would prefer tubeless tyres for ease of fixing a puncture. I can plug a puncture and be on my way in 10 minutes with tubeless. But that Bear makes me wish I could have just one more bike. It looks and sounds great.

TEC is already making a 2 into 1 with no cat for the 650. It should increase torque even a little more, and, along with an air box/filter upgrade, should give a couple more horsepower. I'll let you know how it turns out! This Bear is the 650 I was hoping RE would make!
@Geshmaal29 күн бұрын
Totally agree on the old man's point about "off-road" - as long as you aren't slamming over logs and rocks you don't need massive amounts of suspension travel and ground clearance, just a little bit extra and some chunk to your tyres. If you try and build a log smasher of a bike that's 650cc+ you end up with a top heavy Tenere 700 type thing.

In Australia we only have the small number plate ( unlike the horrible massive one you have to have in UK ) we also don’t have a front one . Great review, I currently own a Moto Guzzi V85tt and a Honda CRF 300 Rally . I disagree on that suspension travel ( as it’s not just for jumps ) I used to ride motorcross , ADV , etc , etc , from bikes I have owned and it’s MANY , 170mm is a BASE starting for off road without bottoming out , on pot holes , wash outs , ruts , ( and this isn’t jumping ) I have upgraded suspension on bikes with 150mm of travel - which is slot of Scramblers and Sports tourers BUT at the end of the day 150mm is still 150mm , the VStrom is borderline on 160mm. And the Bear is 115mm rear and 130mm front is that correct ? , BUT I do love the look and would use it as a road touring bike and use the 450 Himalayan as an ADV off road bike . You can take ANY bike off road BUT how will it be after many miles on dirt . Also do you know the range ? Fuel ⛽️. But a fantastic review even though I don’t agree with all your assessments. Regards Paul

Nice vid, and I'm quite pleased with the bike. The one thing that's a bit of a downer is the central gauge. That digital crap ruins the otherwise lovely retro look of the bike. I had a good sit on one of these at Motorcycle Live and agree the seating position with the pegs and handlebars is perfect. Extremely comfortable, it just feels right. The quality looks great and the design is very good, it looks exactly like you'd expect a scrambler to look. I tried the BSA scrambler and it felt cramped in comparison even though it looks very similar. There's a very good chance I'll be ordering one of these, just a few test rides between then and now but it's on a a very small short list. Overall a very desirable bike.

Royal Enfield simply understand listen their customers somehow. They release a model, listen around what the community says about it and then release a new version to fit it it seems. The Bear would probably have been the "correct" bike for me, judging from my riding patterns with a lot of dirt roads and trails. However, I've been in love with my Classic 350 ever since I bought it and I've been riding it basically anywhere the ground has been solid enough to carry it, so I've pre-ordered a Classic 650 as a complement bike, to be able to handle longer rides as well. It may not be meant for it, but I'm gonna make it into my "go anywhere, do anything" bike. It's heavy, I know. But to me, it's worth it for the absence of plastic. I was 100% certain I had subscribed already, but KZbin being KZbin, I wasn't at this point. Re-subbing though. Love the sound of a travel through India on the Classic 350. Cheers!

Really curious what the new trend is with mounting single round clocks to an offset. Triumph also is doing the same with the new speed twin. Are they thinking everyone is left eye dominate? It baffles me and completely turns me off as I hate things off center. It's almost like all of the manufacturers listen to the same designer or test riders who said they prefer off set when in reality not many do.

Impressed that the review was done in India. From what I've seen you need tk be real rider to negotiate the roads of India. India is on my bucket list with some fabulous places to ride if you have the courage and skill.

As lovely as your usual locations are, (Liddington for example), _THIS_ is the place to first ride the Bear! Great review of a great bike.

I must admit the Bear 650 looks really good and I look forward to taking one for a test ride in the near future, the only thing I am not keen is the exhaust which I would have to change (it's too low down) as for the digital instrument console, I'm an analogue fan myself but as far as digital screens go the one on the Bear looks really good however the fact it's off centre is really quite irritating (maybe I'm OCD) other than those two minor points I think the 650 Bear is a winner.
