Honestly why not just buy a bike that doenst need so much modding? Really drives up the price of the Enfield. On another note how much miles are you down rn and how well did it hold up so far?

@@francisnorthwood7862 I purchased this bike as a canvas for customisation during the various lockdowns. Miles wise, about 1700, zero problems. Hoping to put some serious miles on it ASAP.

@@WildlifeMoto Agree. The blank canvas aspect of the RE Interceptor is a big reason I'm attracted to the bike. Bikes are very personal choices based on a number of considerations. To each his own, but there's no need to confine your choice to a pure touring bike or an adventure style bike just bc you want to do some touring. The RE Interceptor is a standard type of bike, which to me are the best to own (especially if you only have one bike). Secondly, the pieces were useful improvements, high quality, and they didn't cost all that much money. Imo the value was well worth the cost, and I would want every one of them if I get that bike. On top of that everything you added was useful for riding around town as well as for touring.

I've got a Dart on the Guzzi. It is mainly aesthetic. It does take a little of the blast off but it's main purpose seems to be directing flies into you mouth, yum.

Appreciate the Inteceptor mods a lot as have been on the same journey myself for the last year and a half, cracking bike out of the box but making it your own is thoroughly rewarding! @@WildlifeMoto No worries, will definitely keep watching! Just a quick question, are the standard brake/clutch cables long enough to fit your LSL bars do you think or did you need extended ones?
@WildlifeMoto
@WildlifeMoto 3 жыл бұрын
@@mattfisher2513 Will you be running the standard bar clamps? If so, you should be fine. If you are running risers, or just want a bit more slack, I've seen others run the throttle cables behind the fork to gain a couple of cm back. My brake line was fine with these bars, but again if you are adding risers, you might need to play with the routing.

A small point perhaps. The engineering-correct lubricant for plastics such as PTFE lined cables, is silicone oil. Not a PTFE dry spray. PTFE is a non-stick coating not a lubricant. It is actually a very hard material and if it spalls away from the job can act as an abrasive.

Thanks for the update and good luck with your bike. I might also suggest the enfield tall windscreen. I takes the air off my chest and up into the head are. It is much more comfortable for long rides. I also purchased the continental touring seat for my Interceptor but found it much more uncomfortable (for Me) than the original interceptor. After a short while my bum back hurt and my bum was completely numb. I now have about 15,000 kilometers on my 2020 Interceptor. I live in Thailand and get to ride almost every single day. Cheers

Jon here in Upper Michigan. I need to replace the clutch cable on my '88 Honda Hawk GT 650 (Bros 650 where you are at) and the Venhill clutch cable that you installed on your RE Interceptor seems to be the ticket. I also like the Dart fly screen. Currently I have a Targa faring on my bike but occassionally I will take it off and ride the naked Hawk. It has a round head lamp similar to your RE. I hope I can buy the Venhill cable in the states.

Regarding the "Grip Puppies." I bought some for my BMW R1150R a few years ago and they weren't tight enough and when I turned the throttle the grip would just spin on the grip so you might need to apply some kind of spray adhesive to the inside of the grip to solve this problem.

Good video. Hope to be getting an Enfield in 2022. Great bike. I especially like the oil guard. Looks nice. Love the handlebars too. It would be the first thing I would change from stock. Like the bags. But full camping setup? Don’t know about that… I doubt you could fit a tent in there with poles… The seat… I’m a fan of a completely flat seat for a bike like this as you can sit further back just to change body positioning for a little while..

I Like the Royal Enfield Interceptor and the Classic 500, but the Interceptor has upswept exhausts, plastic silver mudguards, and silver wheels that let it down. I believe it would look much better with straight exhausts and chrome/stainless mudguards and wheels. I'd buy an older British bike but the Enfields would be more reliable and less problematic. The Classic 500 is a beautiful-looking machine but the Vibrations put me off. I wonder if rubber mounting the engine would cut down vibrations enough?

These are LSL Superbike bars. They are made in Germany. Pretty sure they will ship worldwide. Good luck.

Great suggestions, practical and ethically pleasing. I see from the vid you have upgraded the rear of the interceptor is that on this channel?

Thanks. I’ve featured it in other videos but not in a massive amount of detail. I’ll do a full vid on it soon. Cheers 👍

i had the same issue with the clutch cable. the plastic mount came off and my wire was sitting on the radiator, melting the rubber around it. i noticed this because my friction point was basically non existant lol

Your handle bars look nice. Are you using a custom handle bar?

Great selection. I might have taken heated grips over the puppies, however.

Hey, really beautiful video! I needed this so much, I'm planning to change my suzuki katana because i want something more practical when it comes to ride with my girlfriend as a passenger, do you recommend me this bike for that purpose? Packing something to stay away one night and visit some places, this bike looks ideal, the katana is way too powerful and uncomfortable

It’s ok for short two up. Plenty of power. My GF likes the touring seat better than the stock seat. Also have a look at the Hitchcocks luggage rack to put your stuff on.

@@WildlifeMoto thank you! I don't need a fast bike, i did 7000 km on my katana in a couple months and i figured out that i always go too fast, its time to get chill and enjoy some views. I will probably copy everything you did on your bike 😂

Have you managed to get out for a decent ride on the GT touring seat yet? Or is it all still shite over in the UK? If you have, how's the new seat holding up?
@WildlifeMoto
@WildlifeMoto 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Damien. I’ve been out of a couple of “essential errands”. When you first get on it, it actually feels lest comfortable, but after a while the extra support starts to become beneficial. So far so good, but needs more testing on a longer ride!

@@WildlifeMoto I'm ordering my bike this week. Will go the GT touring seat because I really like the way it looks on your bike. I've got an old sheepskin seat cover I'll put on and see if that also helps in any way. Thanks for getting back to me. Stay safe!

Thank you for the video very good suggestions. The USB plug however concerns me because it is open to rain. There’s got to be a better solution that is weatherproof.
@WildlifeMoto
@WildlifeMoto 3 жыл бұрын
True. You won’t be able to use this in the rain. Maybe I could make a cable with a rubber cap glued to the end. 🧐

I find the seat too soft and thin, even for my skinny butt; is there any mod for it ? The one you installed is worse yet; thinner and just as soft. Going Corbin any sec.
