That lovely exhaust sound says it all. Chill out and purr along :)

Before changing the suspension add two clicks and go for a run. Wont hurt and maybe you can save on the new suspenion. Something that helpped when I had my NC750 but has greatly improved my Transalp. Wishing you well and safe journeys

I have owned a meteor for 3 years (11,000 miles)and apart from the gear linkage and adding a rack and topbox the bike is stock. I did adjust the shocks to the third click up to stop them bottoming out but they aren’t brilliant even then just acceptable I am interested in what you have to say about the Hagons. The gear linkage I replaced with one off eBay as the new pivot bolt removes the slop at the lever and makes the change more positive. My bike will get to 75 ish mph reasonably easily but it isn’t where this bike is happiest and 50 to 65 is much more comfortable. My ceat tyres lasted 9000 miles before squaring off and I have replaced them with Bridgestones which are a night and day difference especially in the wet though other people do recommend Avon’s . I haven’t tuned the bike in any way as I can live with the performance as my commute to work is all on sub 50mph roads and with the new Guerrilla and triumph 400’s producing twice the power for not much more money I don’t see it as worthwhile. The bike has been totally reliable the finish is still good and apart from the drive chain needing replacing at 6000 miles I have had had nothing really to complain about the bike is fun to ride and cheap to own as a second bike it is perfect for what I use it for.

Three changes - DNA, decat and a 16T sprocket. Comparatively cheap to do but it'll make a very noticeable improvement to the bike's performance. Mine's overtaken cars at 65-70mph when I've needed to, and doesn't use 5th gear on my backroads.

All the bike needs is a slightly higher compression ratio & the speed restriction to 80 & 6 speed box with slightly altered gear ratio on the upper gears , like the videos👍

On low powered bikes it is best to let the bike pick her speed and then adapt your riding according. Trying to push a bike like this faster than 60-65 is just too much work. Stick to the slow lane and enjoy the ride.

Good review 👍 I have a fireball yellow 21 plate with tripper. Done 12k miles on it. Added Flyscreen Handguards Airfly bars DNA Touring seats Side pannier Rack and givi top box Tail tidy Footrests upgrade. Rear pillion back rest. I too service it myself. Have tried to part with this bike several times but everytime I test ride, the new bikes are not as good. Once you're in the habit of riding it. It is hard to break that habit as it's so beautiful to own and ride. Perhaps one day I may buy a shotgun 650 bc that's the only bike that comes close but doesn't look as good. If I do buy then it will be a second bike. I feel the suspension is good on the 3rd level and with the DNA filter fitted it allows me to enjoy the extra power you needed at certain times. I have taken it on long motorway rides at 70mph + no problem. Oh and riden 2 up at 70mph also. Love it. Regards.

Thanks for watching! Have you considered the Meteor 650? I'd love to own one, I do think they look just as good, but I don't want to part with the 100mpg ish that I get! Maybe my bike is a tad on the underpowered side, I can't seem to quite reach 70 unless it's absolutely perfect conditions.
@ColinDavo2 күн бұрын
Hi, yes have tried the Meteor 650 and didn't like the giving birth position 😅 Thought the Interceptor is better but looks high maintenance so riding the Shotgun felt more all round choice. Take a look at the air intake, some people butcher the snorkel inlets off to let it breathe more. Personally I think butchering is not worth it, just get the DNA and cover and you can feel the boost. Hitchcocks have the data in one of their vids

Can't argue with that ❤ I bought a 350 Meteor in June my mate bought one and we've enjoyed rides out round Wales , perfect , I love them , I knew what I was buying and people go on about the power , if you want more power buy a bigger bike , I downsized because its what I wanted , I had mates years ago that rode Honda cubs to and from work in all weathers and they did the job , so these 350cc Royal Enfields will have no problem 😊 👌 👍

It’s a great bike I did 1200 miles from new it just lacks power I know it’s only 20 hp but I sold it I am waiting on the new Kawasaki Vulcan 2025 model to come out over here.but honestly I do miss it and so reliable but every you say here it true..but I can’t put you off if if I am honest 🥂

I've had 3 Meteor 350s and would have to disagree with you on the performance issue. If you search out the original RE bumph they say the way to get the best out of the engine is to take it to 70mph in 4th gear then put it into overdrive (5th gear to you and I)and cruise all day at that speed. Don't forget these engines are restricted so only make 80% of their safe capable top speed and although they're buzzing at 70mph they're well within their comfort zone, I have done many a long motorway journey on mine without issue. The biggest journey I did in one day was 275 miles albeit not on the motorway. If you want to improve overtaking capability put a DNA Stage 2 Filter on the bike and there's a noticeable improvement in it. My latest version is a 2024 Aurora model that has not been fitted with the speed restrictor at the RE factory, it will now hit 83mph without the rev limiter cutting in. Yes, it takes a while to get there but shows that the engine is more than capable of hitting these speeds and if it wasn't safe to do so RE wouldn't have removed the restrictor. At the end of the day these J series engines are only 20bhp and are never going to be super powerful but its all about the total package and ignore the paper facts and try one. I think most people will agree that your riding experience is perhaps more bleak on the performance front than there's. Otherwise I agree with most of what you say.🙂👍
@alans.t.96912 күн бұрын
So all 2024 models are now unrestricted? Or just the Aurora version?
@jonathandeeley62762 күн бұрын
@alans.t.9691 difficult one to answer. I know other Aurora owners are reporting the same as me that their bikes are capable of 80+mph and there is unofficial confirmation that 2024 model year bikes (built in 2024) across the range have had the restrictor removed however, RE UK won't confirm this, I suppose because owners of earlier models will want theirs derestricted which will potentially cause hassle for the Importer and the factory.🤔👍

Would be good to know how much of an improvement the Hagon shocks will make. They usually get a great review. How do you rate the tyres?
@RevAndRideWithChaz2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! The tyres are absolutely fine for my use. I use this bike down to about 3c, and have never really felt any slip. Saying that though, I am also quite sensible in the corners. In terms of the Hagon shocks, I'll end up doing a full review, but long story short, I'm happy with them overall!

@ I look forward to the review, I am thinking of buying a 350 Meteor especially with the present offers on. I have subscribed to your channel, thanks for the reviews.

If you cannot be bothered to read the manual and quote the right service intervals why bother with a review?
@robx520520 сағат бұрын
Blimey , factually incorrect for most of video!. Minor service recommended by RE at 3000, major Inc valves at 6000miles. Bike is restricted to 74 ISH, capable of 80-85 with a Hunter throttle body. You will not thrash it at 60 or 70 and it will happily cruise on a motorway at 65-70 all day long. It will in fact do 60 in 3rd gear. Only bit I agreed with is overtaking speed. Probably the worst info vid I've seen from an actual owner.
