Some sound choices across a variety of brands, sure all the bikes featured should do well in what is 2025’s marketplace. Quite looking forwards to the bsa 650 scrambler too, not that I’d consider purchasing but looks the business.. for me, on that list the standouts are the BMW 450 GS which if priced sensibly will fly out of showrooms alongside the KTM 390 ADV..just not sure I could trade down from an 890R (mostly power related 😬😉) for either.. keep these vids coming from time to time they are very well put together and informative Tony 💪👌

Not much point in featuring KTM's now! Since you made this RE have announced a 650/750 Himi of sorts. Probably going to be their best bike yet.

@mancavemotoАй бұрын
They still exist, and won’t be going anywhere, so why not?
@t.fidler5895Ай бұрын
If their parant company has troble it doeant mean that ktm isnin truble. KTM is here to stay under mobolility ag or some other parant group.
@pedronogueira8148Ай бұрын
@@mancavemoto They will be going somewhere, that's exactly my point. PMG is going down and with it KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas and quite a few other companies under that same umbrella parent company. Suggesting bikes from this parent company are "bikes of the year" pushes your less educated audience into considering buying products from a dying company, which is pretty shady.
@mancavemotoАй бұрын
But I wouldn't consider it to be dying. There are financial issues to deal with, but KTM as a brand is the one likely to come out the best. If things were that bad they wouldnt be introducing new models. MV Agusta and Gas Gas I would say could be the brands to go/be sold off from the group. I never suggested any if these are 'bikes of the year' in that sense and to suggest featuring current models available for sale as being 'shady' is a little unfair.

The BMW 450gs looks great but as a 310gs owner I would like to see some upgrades to it. Like the tft screen and usb port on the dash. It’s a great bike but the lcd screen makes it look dated. The seat on the 450 doesn’t look as comfortable as the one on the 310. Those hard bench seats seem more enduro than adventure. Great video!

@mancavemoto22 күн бұрын
Very similar bikes, the Suzuki is heavier but has more power. The yamaha is a bit more 'revvy' and you tend to ride more at the top end of the rev range, the Suzuki has more low to mid range torque, so it really depends on how you ride and what you like from an engine

Having problems with voice commands (ei hello Sena.) myself and I see loads of other cannot get this function to work. Just wondering if it's something you've come across. I found it a bit 'Hit & Miss' too, until I learnt that you need to say 'Hey Sena' and the command without waiting for a reply. If you say for example "Hey Sena Volume up", "Hey Sena play music" etc. The comms won't respond audibly, but it will carry out the command. works fine now.

I’m hoping for Honda’s DCT transmission in either the 750 or 1100 class ! Any thoughts ?
@mancavemoto29 күн бұрын
The DCT is available in the 1100's with the Africa Twin, NT1100 and CMX1100. I asked about the transalp at launch and Honda said not for at leat two years, maybe never on that bike. Maybe too much overlap with the AT? Obviously the NC750X and X-ADV have it, so its not something that they can't do. But I guess weight and cost are issues?

Thanks for the video Tony. It hit on two bikes I'm considering, the V2 Multistrada or the Tiger 800. I'm getting a bit worried about the Chinese invasion though, with the 900 Voge for example coming at around half the price of a specked up Multistrada. Do you there could be a resetting of prices to come on European bikes?
@mancavemotoАй бұрын
Perhaps, but it’s more likely the Chinese bikes prices will slowly rise as the quality improves and or the front run them a bit less
@t.fidler5895Ай бұрын
Bikes from china are competition to japaneese bikes. Both are ment for endurece reliability tooned down bikes that will work for ever so people can bring both wives, ten kids and a pig to the market place. Europian bikes are performance oriented

Interesting to see KTM/Husky pushing the troubled 790 engine. Amount of complains I’ve heard first hand is unbelievable. I wanted 790 Adventure but went with BMW F900GS instead few months ago.
@mancavemotoАй бұрын
Interesting to know how many complaints come from actual owners. No doubt there was a problem but I get the feeling it’s overblown? I’m one of those people that owned and original 790 adventure. It was a 2019 bike which gave 25,0000 miles with no trouble other than a weeping brake master cylinder
@stefanpnАй бұрын
@mancavemoto I’ve spoke with 4 owners (Duke 790, 790/890 Adventure) that had issues with cam shafts & some minor issues. One resolved the issue by him self, one sold the bike broken, and two had dealer repairs, however they paid for some work. Interestingly enough guy that repaired by him self says he is very satisfied with the bike and won’t change, others were not so happy. One guy didn’t have any issue but he is at 8000 kms at the time we spoke. I tried to do my research before buying, there are some people online that claim large mileage with no intervention. But I was not willing to risk, even tho, 790 Adventure was the bike I wanted the most as price/value ratio was very good. F 900 GS had an somewhat reliable engine from 900XR, and local dealer has good reputation.
@kai-uweoch115928 күн бұрын
I don't get it why BMW choses a 19" front wheel for the upcoming 450, for a bike that is clearly dirt oriented. Well, at least that's how they market it themselves! ;-)

None of these bikes are practical or versatile. Would I want to take them on the highway with a passenger? How about on a long tour? Definitely some great styling on a few, but don't see qualities that make any an everyday ride. There's too much focus on one style of riding on a specific terrain. I'd pick the Honda GB350 as the most enticing. It's size seems like a more exciting and comfortable proposition than a Rebel if you are small enough. Looks small in the video. Thanks for putting the list together. I would love to see bikes that are innovative or bucking the fads and going about things their own way. Offering something that few others offer.

@@mancavemoto @mancavemoto @mancavemoto I just had my TFT display fail on my '21 Africa Twin. It's a known issue and Honda is extending their warranty on this part to 10 years. Mine was recently replaced by the dealer. If anyone can build a display that will last that long, I would think it would be Honda, but, unfortunately they are not immune to poor quality control, especially since they farm out manufacturing to different companies. What do you think will happen if you trust your electronics to Ducati and you head out on a multi-day trip? I'd put my money on the Triumph between the two, but, really, I'm looking at lower tech and not more riding modes. How about just traction control and ABS (both defeatable), cruise control, good adjustable and comfy ergos for rider and passenger and call it good?
