Thank you for your great review. I had difficulties with the Tripper navigation and you explained why. All out in the bush I lost contact with the Tripper, I had no phone signal so the tripper just disconnected. Then I also noticed almost all the phones battery were gone after an hour and a half use. I'm disappointed with the Tripper navigation even tough the accuracy was great the few kilometres it worked.

The second arrow indicates the direction you will be taking after the next turn ie straight on.

Google maps has audio, does the tripper have audio ie you can Bluetooth into an ear piece, seeing as it is using Google maps?

Yes it does. Just turn the volume down on your phone if you don’t want to hear it in your helmet. I didn’t find that the Tripper drains your phone battery, quite the opposite. Your phone is locked off . It doesn’t use as much power as when your phone is producing a constant moving picture to look at as a Sat Nav on your handlebars.

Couple of things. 1st, if you want to sell the Himalayan in the US its needs a 6th gear and 500cc motor. 2nd, the GPS is pretty nice, I like the design, but the power issue must be fixed.

Why would you need 6 gears on a low powered bike? More gears do not equate to more power, just more needless work. 4 gears might even be better.

@@frankiepitt9135 Because the average speed on the interstate is about 75 MPH. (120 KPH). The Himalayan struggles to get close to that. I can get a KLR650 that is great off road and can do 120KPH all day long, that's why.

@@BrokeDownBob You cannot compare a KLR650 with an RE Himalayan 411cc! The CCs/engine size difference speaks for itself!! They are also two very different types of Motorcycles albeit two adventure Motorcycles. I ride a Royal Enfield Himalayan and I also ride a Suzuki 650 V-Strom XT. Two totally very different Motorcycles which I enjoy for very different characteristics and handling. The RE Himalayan was produced as a low cost smaller engined Motorcycle which allowed accessible Adventure Motorcycling to most people on a smaller Budget! It was also designed to allow more basic essential maintenance by the owner in more remote locations! The KLR 650 is a very well designed Motorcycle over a long term, so most if not all bugs have been designed out! The RE Hamalayan was not designed for constant high speed although it will cruise comfortably all day at 70MPH. This and the RE Specs maybe should have been looked at in detail before purchase and during your test riding period. It's like comparing chalk and cheese, both very different! Don't purchase a Honda Goldwing if you are planning to go off road. Equally don't purchase a RE Himalayan if you want to cross & ride the interstate at high speed! Horses for courses!

@@BrokeDownBob you are looking at the wrong bike. Himalayan is not meant to be a road tourer. Also, the bike does not have GPS. Tripper is just a bluetooth enabled display. The GPS being used is your phone's.

Tripper Navigation is actually shit. If RE increased the bike price by 5-10k and install a 5inch screen with a downloaded map and wifi connection to update it time to time, it Would be wonderful. Can't see shit in tripper. It's too small.
