One time online, 2003 or so dont really remember the details but I had to check/call it down for the payout and split w/ the table. I ended up w/ like $500 and change everyone @ the table got like $50 or something like that.

Checking the River was crazy. If Ponakovs didn't have a big heart, he wouldn't bet. Even with 3 Kings it wasn't happening. But if Kaladjurdjevic had put 2M (1/3 pot), Ponakovs would be getting 4 to 1, and might feel it was worth seeing. Even 3M.

I hit a royal flush in a game with friends on a vacation 20 years ago with AKs. I was dealing, and the funny thing was my friends already thought I was some kind of magical card shark cheater (an impression that I did not discourage). Everyone was watching me deal like hawks saying, "He's got a Royal Flush. How did you do that?" before showdown. But another guy had a good hand (I don't remember what) and said "No way!" and called me down anyway to all in. So to this day they all think I'm a magician with cards and a big cheater.

The closest I got to a royal was a king high straight flush. Opponent jammed with a straight. Of course, this was an old video game on the Nintendo DS, so I didn't actually get any money out of it, but it was cool to see.

7:00 - I was thinking you might talk about call/jam in terms of whether he had the king of hearts. My first instinct is jam with the heart, call without the heart, but I think it might be better to try for fold equity without the heart and call with the heart.

Like you say, no clue what his tendencies are, but you'd think you'd bet at least a small bet to get value from the hand. Maybe a smallish bet that smells like a bluff? With a flush and straight draw on board, just checking isn't going to induce a bluff. If he has hit either, any bet would get called.

@YTSparty Kala is short stack. 9BB. He will go or call in with almost anything. Every blind he puts in there is getting him closer to be all in.. The flop bet screams for a call or raise. I think even the turn bet might be too high. On the river, I like your idea to bet tiny. Why not just 1bb. The pot is 8bb. Tough not to call with many hands.

My one and only Royal Flush was a poker game I played for my Birthday. I had K10 of spades. Raise preflop and get one caller. Flop comes Js, 7h, Qs. I bet some, get called. Turn comes Jh. I bet some, get raised, then I call. Ace of spades comes on the river and I jam. He calls. Said he had a boat of some kind.

I have made a couple royal flushes in live cash games. The last one was about a year ago when I flopped it with JsTs. I didn't get a lot of action on the AKQ monotone board; but the room was running a high hand promotion at the time and I won that in addition to the modest pot.

I've made one royal flush, playing online. I actually flopped it in position heads up, and ended up getting it all in when the other player decided to bluff every street with absolute air. We were only about 100 bb deep but it felt good to get the maximum.

You have to Bet the River with the Flush. Yes, the 4th spade is an action killer but, that's why you need to bet. A Small bet. 500k. He probably folds. But, If you check he's going to check so, go for a little value 😁

This sort of hand has me asking questions. How were the cards shuffled? By hand or machine? Is the deck fresh? Frankly this reminds me of a certain video poker game I play which has incredible hands at an alarming frequency- in other words, it seems rigged. But I will admit that 1 in 25k chances do occur.
