Use in a well ventilated area but yeah, it speeds the process up A LOT!

If you want an alternative you can also use a little water mixed with spackling wood filler.

On my Bucket list as well to print. I also had the Don Post mask but lost it in a Houston Texas Storage unit, It melted in the summer heat.

That's a huge bummer it melted! They are becoming kind of rare these days. Hate to hear that.

I need to build myself one of these.. I’m held back by the fear of all that sanding to get it super smooth though lol.

There’s a lot of sanding but TOTALLY worth it. If you added up all my sanding time it probably doesn’t total more than two hours. Throw on some music, an audiobook or a podcast and it’ll go quick! Hope you start, no better time than the present!

I’ve yet to see anyone use Loctite Hysol glue for joining halves other than me. Not only is it the strongest glue on the planet but it totally minimizes all the grinding & fill work. It’s thixotropic so there’s no sagging and the joint will never come apart equal to it being solid printed or more. I use Hysol 9460/62 series and have used it for the last 20 years on my RC Turbine aircraft that have wing joints that hold up for 250mph+ speeds and the G-loads are in the 10-40 G’s just because of power to weight. Also there’s some newer Spray can High Fill primers that eliminate the need for the Red filler & Acetone. The primer is available at Autozone and is the U-POL White Expert Bonding Primer. This stuff has all but replaced the Red Putty except for areas that need leveling or cracks etc… the big difference is the time & exposure to the harshness of the Red Putty/Acetone mixture.

I will have to look at the Loctite Hysol glue. Sounds interesting.
