Right on Trevor! Sure do recognize a few of those throws and take downs from Judo. The knife take-down is standing ude garami, known to BJJ practitioners as the 'Kimura'. Timing and speed, more important than strength, but conditioning is also key. Cheers.

It's not a specific martial art but more of a system integrating different techniques from martial arts such as brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai, wrestling, boxing and many others.

3 or four of us?. the french only sided with the Americans when the war was turning in there favor in 1776 and the English had the native americans on there side. remember the native Americans new the land very well. The English paid or forced Germans to help them fight in the war. seems like 3-2 to me?

Its home brew stuff, with some mixed martial arts thrown in. As far as I know no particular branches of the British Armed Forces go into enormous depth as far as unarmed combat goes, as you can see from the demonstration the unarmed techniques are mostly for quiatly taking down unsuspecting sentries, or pacifying hostile civilians. They do however train for hand to hand combat using daggers and bayonets, and occasionally with clubs and axes also.

the problem with BBJ is that it's very centralised in grappling, and a good spinning back kick can knock a BBJ practisioner on his or her arse While both have different strengths and weaknesses, speed and power are more important in the long run (as well as making sure you don't injure yourself)
