And how come Task force 141 is being formed when Gaz is still alive? Or the whole timeline inconsistency with Cod 4 being set in 2009 and MW2 and 3 being set in 2016 whilst MW is set in 2019?

Honestly I don't know why he doesn't lower the difficulty. It ruins the narrative when you die every 5 seconds. It's okay to play on easy and then replay the game on the hardest difficulty especially when it's a cinematic game like Uncharted or a good CoD campaign...

The Mile High Club (which is the mission after the credits) is set in Valhalla (heaven for warriors) where Gaz gets to relive his glory days forever (if you listen close it’s his voice).That explains how you boarded the plane and why everyone jumped off without parachutes. It was originally supposed to come at the beginning of the game but was placed at the end for a sort of Easter egg.

I agree with you on being attached to these characters more rather than the reboot. I think it's because even though their lines were so few, it had personality in them. During cut-scenes, especially when they were talking about beers, that conversation already tells the player so much about what kind of person and the type of humor they have.

The final mission was just a fun thing to speedrun. In the second and third games, they have a mode called Spec Ops where it has missions like that that didn't fit into the storyline but were fun anyways.
