@BRITISHFURY_1664 properly stored modern ammo won't go bad. You can stick it in a sealed container and bury it for 20 years and it will still function fine, being prepared for some crazy scenarios isn't as crazy as it sounds for example if you're prepared for let's say a foreign invasion, you're also prepared for anatural disaster. Take hurricanes on the southern coast of the USA, government assistance often takes between 24-72 hours to arrive proper, or the fires on the west coast people often dont have time to get all the essentials so having a "cache" in your home or car you have less to worry about and can leave quicker, Take the riots the government is preoccupied with the chaos and that increases response time significantly. There are plenty of scenarios where this is more beneficial then the average person might think.

The best thing you can do to be prepared for a hurricane is to have a place you know you can stay a couple hours inland, a plan for how to get there. The next best thing to have is an emergency fund in a checking account at a major bank so that you can easily access the funds from wherever you need to. In a hurricane you need to evacuate before it happens and this is quite easy to do if you have an emergency accommodation plan and the funds to cover it while you wait out the storm in safety.

We got you calling him "Flannel Daddy", sweeeeeet. 😆 In all seriousness, these are some of my favorite vids of his. Very informative and (unfortunately) it's very necessary knowledge to have. My old man taught me how to build a bug out bag, and how to do some of this when I was younger. He told me "you will probably need to do a bit of this someday", which had me at the time thinking he was a bit paranoid (at the same time thinking it was really cool haha). Years later after finding out that he actually had to do this once for his "work" and seeing the growing violence around the world, I've actually built one again for myself... Wild stuff.

Those videos about the protests lowkey reminds me of The Purge. I remember back when the Covid riots were going on, we heard of people ending others in their houses (we heard shots fired on our side of town). We barricaded ourselves in our house, and made sure to lock our main gate. The first thing my dad said to me was: "Help me make these spears, and if anyone comes through that gate, you fight as hard as you can. Do not go outside, if you see rioters coming past, do not look at them, do not interact with them, but if it comes down to it, fight. If we end up moving off of the mortal coil, take as many of them with you as you can." Luckily our side of town was untouched, it was still a scary time

My dad told me he'll try and help me pay for the competency and legal steps for pistol rifle and shotgun next year. The main advice from my grandfather was to always have a rope, a decent cutting tool and something to catch water (mirror, glass, metal, nowadays plastic and something to contain it of course) nearby. This might be hard to come by in time of need and will instantly give you the ability to survive. He layed low in WW2 in a village that was left on it's own. If you're resourcesfull, a lot is possible. If you know what's around that'll help you more then any prepping and hide in a bunker. I rather work with what I've got and develop a long term goal then just wait it out. Cities are targeted too much. Rural areas will be more "lawless" but also empty. Sounds a bit stupid but for instance playing Dayz is a good way of experiencing what people will do in a time of collapse. There are scavengers, small societies, oppressors,... I always tend to survive the longest when roaming the natural covered areas, catching small game and fish, having a smaller shelter in a distant location, preferrably covered by natural geography. But certainly avoiding people and groups. And just cook your water. Or catch condensated or rain water. Way safer then all these homemade filters.

I distinguish between a "prepper" and having preparedness. Knowing the skills to keep yourself alive and to keep your family alive are invaluable. This video is more about evasion from a threat than escape from a natural disaster but many of the core concepts carry over as far as sustainment, food, waater, and shelter. If a flood carries your car away and destroys your house, where are you going to go and how are you going to do it? In many cases people don't have time to respond to these disasters, so it's always worth knowing at least some basic survival information and navigation skills. How well do you kmnow you local areas layout? There's wildfires in my state on a near yearly basis and we've gotten the call to evacuate are area before, you couldn't see 50ft in front of you driving in the smoke and that makes reading road signs nearly impossible. I've lived in my area for my entire life, so I could navigate a good amount and get out of danger if that happens again. I'm fortunate enough to be near a large body of fresh water, but it would require cleaning to safely drink. We have axes and chainsaws because fallen trees in the road are a fairly common yearly occurence. The winter here is wet and muddy, and we often have the power go out when the power lines freeze or somebody on the road slides on ice and hits a telephone pole knocking out our main form of communication for sometimes weeks at a time. Last winter we had no power nad had to run the house on a generator for about a month because we are rural enough to not get top priority compared to the city. Because we needed to keep the generator fed 24/7 we had to fill half a dozen 5gal gas cans and top off the generator every morning. Most of the sotres were closed or out of power so we mainly ate canned foods for that month. I used a propane cooktop to boil water for morning coffee and tea aswell as cooking food. It sucked but we made it through. Having the tools and skills to deal with these kinds of situations can make a huge difference. You would be surprised by the amount of people who don't know how to use a generator or how to properly and safely hook it up to your house's power. Anywyas, enough rambling out of me, this was a great video!

The more people you include in your bugout plan, the less you need to focus on remaining inconspicuous and the more you need to consider protection. As a lone wolf or 2-3 man group, remaining unnoticed is key, but with a group of 4+ walking in a group down the street with backpacks is going to attract attention - no way around it - if someone with a weapon tries to hold you up you need a plan to deal with that; a desperate scumbag's first thought when they are hungry is to grab a knife and take people's shit. Remember that your survival is more important than laws that don't apply in a SHTF situation. Like with anything considering protection is a calculated risk - if you have your family and kids with you in SHTF situation, you should be carrying some kind of weapon 100%.

I liked his becoming deadly in the mountains series better. I think this escape from the city while it has good advice i don't see how it would be practical for someone who isn't already looking to get mixed up in some stuff. i.e if you are carrying a backpack in the city you more then likely won't be carrying extra clothes and a whole bug out kit unless you are actually in a war torn environment already and you are outside only because you have to be. The only way i can see this being practically useful outside of that is if you are a dissident i.e an activist or journalist and you are super paranoid that you might get disappeared for what you're doing and saying then okay sure, but the thing with urban tracking is its very easy to blend in on both sides and if you are actually being targetted by surveillance. you won't be moving unseen no matter what kinda tradecraft you have. you are then focused on obfuscation. yeah i was in this area but what was i doing in this area?
