This short cost me a ton to make as it was all self funded by me & also took around 8-16 hours per day for around 5 months to make so I'm taking some time to focus on a couple smaller shorts in the meantime again till I've recouped some of the costs and am able to do something big again.

At least this does show the Commando's questioning orders. Commandos and ARC Troopers were more independent thinkers than normal infantry units and such so in legends a lot of the Clones who disobeyed Order 66 were Commandos and ARC Troopers.

@@Apparoid1 Not necessarily. Sometimes the shock of taking a high-powered blaster shot can kill or knock someone out even with heavy armor. It's happened before and Commando weapons are exceedingly lethal compared to even the high standard of regular trooper gear. There was one episode where a droid sniper shot Captain Rex off a speeder bike on KO'd him. Would've _killed_ him if clone armor wasn't designed for maximum protection. Whereas Stormtrooper armor was designed for extreme environmental conditions and to evenly _disperse_ impact rather than block it. Also refer to the Muunilinst 10 debut in the 2003 animated series where they got ambushed and one of their members instantly died. Hell, in the same series Ventress kills an entire platoon/company worth of clone troopers in relative silence.

@@Apparoid1 yea but the clones also can shut off outside commms meaning they can talk to their brothers without any hostile shearing their tactics so potentially this is why their grunts did not come through to the commandos but mainly to their other brothers

Republic Commando sucks and the enemies are so bullet spongey it ruins the immersion and the shooting feels so underwhelming. The Commandos would do more damage with BB guns. Literally takes an entire energy pack to kill a single B1 Battle Droid.

Republic Commando had some amazing music and helped start the mandalorian language in the fanbase. Btw, you might want to mod Republic Commando if you're gonna play it on PC because it has some porting issues from the Xbox, biggest of which is the hyper sensitivity of the mouse.

Republic Commando is one of the greatest Star Wars games, still holds up after all this time. Also I know you like reading - the Republic Commando book series is the best series in Star Wars books in my opinion, especially for someone who’s looking for more military/tactical stories. They do a great job character building and don’t rely on mainstream characters to carry the story. I can’t how many times I’ve read through them and each time is still exciting. Highly recommend. Some say that they were indeed droids because they made no noises (like when they were hit etc) at all. But in the Republic Commando novels it is said, that the helmet (even the standard one) is basically soundproof or at least well isolated and had inside comms, so they could talk to eachother without alerting the enemy. So it is obvious why the Coruscant Guard troopers made no noises at all. Also Palpy said the mission was a cover up. I guess the senator said something Palps did not like, so he had to disappear.

Republic commando is a great game in my opinion, it really starts to shine on the harder difficulties since then you have to use proper tactics to do it. One of those things where you either go through real fast and smooth and it works perfectly, or you are pinned down for 10 minutes as you barely scrape by, all decided on the first seconds you enter the room.

If you haven't played star wars knights of the old republic, you have got to try that too. Its definitely older and has a kinda weird gameplay style, but the story is amazing. Republic commandos is amazing though, you should definitely play that

Star Wars, *before the new trilogy mind you,* had such good worldbuilding that we basically had so much material to know more about the Star Wars world. We basically know so much beyond the movies that having a very good adaptation of the information just feels so satisfying. Like how we know the bad batch exist in the clone wars yet what let’s us stay interested in the world is that we get to see beyond pages and pictures and get a moving image.
