In the early 1970s ( I was about 6) The RN sailed a Sub to Newcastle and allowed the public onboard. The one and only time I have ever been on a Sub. Pretty sure it was the same as Artemis. Joining the Police in the 80s I worked with many ex Matlo's, all of them bonkers and good fun to be around. The maddest of them all were the submariners. Tiles missing.........God save the King.

Did they not have hearing protecion in 1970, no one in the engine room is wearing protevtion
