Royal Sword and Life Armor walkthrough - The Desert of Death - Breath of Fire 3

This is a simple walkthrough of the Desert of Death. I will show you how to cross it and at the same time get the Royal Sword and Life Armor.
Be aware that you can take damage up to 4 times when thirsty without losing Hit Points. Just wait till you see and hear Ryu take 4 damage then take a drink of water. You have to stretch out your water supply to make this journey. Remember to wait for the prompt to break camp in the mornings in order to travel the maximum amount of distance per night.
1. First when starting at the factory, walk 2 nights NORTH.
2. Walk WEST for 4 nights until you find the life armor, if you get turned around, just turn left 4 times from north and you'll be facing WEST.
3. Right after you find the life armor, walk NORTH until daybreak.
4. Walk EAST NOTRH EAST, 3 turns right from north, for 2 nights.
5. Walk NORTH for half a night or so and you'll find the Royal Sword, then turn EAST and walk until daybreak.
6. Walk EAST NORTH EAST again for 2 nights.
7. Then walk EAST for half a night or so and you'll arrive at the Oasis.

I actually enjoyed this desert section, though many hated it. It was a great place to level up and find some rare gear. It also wasn’t until years later that I found there was more than one way to get to the oasis. Lol

I thought it was very annoying back in the day. I also played it in 1999, and didn't have easy access to the internet. It took many tries to get through, and I basically just had to rely on luck. Thanks for watching!

In one of my gameplay, I got so lost that I found the armor! The french version has a mistake in the directions to take to exit the desert and it was hell. :)

When I played this for the first time in 1999, I did the same thing! I never made it out and had to start over, ugh. Good thing I found the armor, it definitely helped the second time.

Damn! are those damage rig or something cause i couldn't kill that magmanite in one hit and my characters are lvl 50.

I remember some NPC somewhere in the game would tell you he was lost in the desert and took the wrong direction to find the ultimate weapon
