Thank you guys so much for this, I wish all museums would do this for those of us who dont live in the worlds capitals.

Thanks for this. Some feedback for future videos. I had hoped to see some close ups of Picasso's work on paper. Distant views of a wall with postage stamps on it show nothing. James Kalm in NY has mastered the art of how to show art on line. Text can be shown as a transcript btw. Good luck with future videos.

This was the most well presented life-time video I’ve seen. The well written information was wonderful, the music was perfect for reflection, the close up shots were very much appreciated. I soaked up every frame into my heart. Even though Back in 1973 I was a high school art teacher for nine years, I now at age 70, have a greater understanding and love for Picasso because of this presentation. I cried through one third of this remarkable video. Thank you so very much for the excellence you provided !! 💕😘❤️ 🌿🌸🍃

Janice, your comment has moved me and I thank you for sharing it. I love the way Art is and making it always here and always affecting communicating and somehow connecting people who would normally not reach each other.

This video was extremely captivating, nostalgic and beautiful from all perspectives. Picasso is a genius and this amazingly curated show syncs up with his talent in perfect harmony. The delicate instrumentals are pure bliss, as well as, the camera work. A masterpiece on ALL levels. A+ !

16:55 Very ambitious project. A artist’s guide to world events during the time period. Honors the craft of paper making and Picasso’s interpretation of artistic expression in the times he lived in and as time lived in him. Enjoyable.

So well expressed, Janice. Intended to go up from the sticks to see this show at the RA. Virus intervened. Second Best: This RA introduction to the show. A virtual tour, so well produced by the RA. Images prioritised above a bland audio presenter.

Really appreciate the video during the lockdown. It is great to "see" the exhibition this way. However, just small suggestions to make it better. 1) more closeup to the drawings and paintings, 2) or uploading scans/photos of drawings that allow photographing, (to members)? 3) in the video, especially the last period, the intro focused on his last self portrait one year before his death. However, the most important painting is not shown in the video. He has several self portraits facing death. Very eager to know which one is on show!! Thank you all again for the wonderful video!

I think they have to negotiate a delicate balancing act between making art accessible to us, and not doing themselves out of in-person audiences. They have to leave us wanting more.

i extremely enjoyed this exhibition as although it is online the music and visuals really engrossed me in the experience and it was informative with the detailed explanations of context and the inspiration behind work that you wouldn't even necessarily get to see if you were there in person so made you reflect on pieces more deeply that you may have usually skipped over heightening the appreciation of the work. Also i think it showed an impressive span of his career given the relatively concise nature of the exhibition which helped to engage me more. if there was one thing i'd say i didn't necessarily like is that i don't think the images were as close up as i would of liked as you couldn't see much detail there and at times it felt disconnected from the text.

Why all the unnecessary panning to and fro? Why position the camera at strange angles to the paintings so we see them in a distorted fashion?

I agree. Most of the work could only be seen obliquely and from a distance. Why not do a relatively quick pan of each room followed by close ups of the works?

I thought this would focus on Picasso and PAPER. Instead there's just the standard story about the blue period, the pink period, The Women of Avignon etc. You should get to the point right from the start, paper paper paper.

I wonder if there are any artists like Picasso today? I admire how resourceful he was, in using any kind of paper to express himself. I don't admire the way he treated women in his life, but I love him nevertheless.

When I first saw the title I thought it said "Picasso and peppa". Well I thought it would explain why she has both her eyes on one side of her face, before realising Picasso couldn't possibly have drawn Peppa because he'd died long before.

I lasted one minute. Do you have to have the asexual guitar from hell accompaniment? Also Modern art doesn't equal atonal harp music by John Cage or whoever. Just have a person saying 'this is the main gallery' etc. and without judgment.
