Jonathan is a great guy and all, but having these videos with other curators about different things is a nice way to change things up.

So stoked to see a fellow Greek!! Iason was a delight throughout the whole video, please bring him back again! Ιάσονα, καταπληκτική δουλειά.

I lovev looking at swords, but I can't really see many in real life. So these type of videos is a great substitute. The expert commentary by these guys is also a great thing you can't get if you just go somewhere by yourself.

@lukeshannahan2099 Look up what happened with him and Shad. Matt basically acted like he was some kinda extremist cos Shad is a, and brace yourself for this horrifying news, a moderate Christian conservative.
@lukeshannahan20992 күн бұрын
@ Oh that. Yeah, I know enough about that to know that I agree with Matt there, and the other members of the online HEMA community (to which I don’t think Shad belongs, technically speaking) who have also distanced themselves from him. What I don’t know is how it could be called two faced to have principles and stick to them
@wallythewondercorncake86572 күн бұрын
@lukeshannahan2099 He didn't stick to anything, the opposite. He turned on a friend to appease pressure.

Usually I watch Johnathan Ferguson, firearms being of particular interest, this though is equally interesting.

I have interest in both HEMA and firearms, so I get best of both worlds.

Super interesting to see reproductions of actual swords. Great discussion of both historical details as well as replication challenges. Curious about the process of manufacture.

It's slowly coming together. I see a bayonet special with Matt, Ian McCollum, Jonathan and maybe Othias from C&Rsenal in a distant and utopian future.

Awesome stuff Matt! I was there with tod when we did that at the wallace for his repro of the A479, was awesome to see repro and original side by side. On that note, no close shots of both blades side by side going down from pommel to tip? Hope that s going to be featured in the next video!

This sword reminds me of Captain Carrot's sword from Terry Pratchett's Disc World series, not even decorated, let alone flashy, but very, very good at cutting things!

The pommel does look ugly to me but the rest of the sword is lovely :)
