You can watch videos of His Majesty greeting past recipients of grants from the Princes Trust and recalling details of meeting them 30 or more years ago. Even here, he greets Derek Jacobi with “Good evening, Sir Derek.” Is it true they may forget meeting folks? Sure. They probably do. But there are examples after examples of royals meeting folks they met before and bringing a tidbit of that meeting to present day.

I went to see Gladiator 2 yesterday and I loved it. I've always found the music at the end very moving. I saw Gladiator in the cinema when Russell Crowe was in it and I cried at the end just as I did yesterday. Great movie.

I imagine everyone was very excited and nervous. You could see it as they waited to be the next in turn to meet the King. However, just like his ever gracious mother, King Charles accepted the sincere greeting as it was meant, and he immediately put everyone at ease and treated them with great respect. 🎉👑💖

@Oxley016 I think it was a matter of hearing what the previous person said, then each one just following suit. It's an easy mistake to make for those not familiar with different forms of address. Everyone from politicians to the Pope have dufferent specigic firms of address. I'm sure King Charles just smiled and understood the confusion. It was said with respect, and that's what counts.

It is proper diplomacy, regardless of what happened over two hundred and fifty years ago. After all, people still refer to the head of state for America as Mr. President, even though he's not their president. They don't call him Mr. Biden.

They never break eye contact with the person they're meeting That person has their full and direct attention, creating a brief moment of connection and a lasting memory. @@suemcgregor9248 Not sure what you mean...this premier just happened while he is King..it was nice for them to show respect but too many of them said "highness" or "royal highness" instead of "your majesty" (Or even just sir). So, as pointed out above, perhaps they weren't briefed on protocol. Usually when briefed they are told they have the choice to to use the 'style' or not, but at least they'd know which style to use if they so desired.
