You just love away, Dear. I'm an incarnated socialist - and we love our Mary. She makes us proud - you too, I should hope. We owe you big time, Austalia, so were ready to lend you the king a couple of weeks every year 🤩 I just HAVE to tell about the time the then corwn price brought tears of pride to my eyes. They were visiting Australia, and he knowns who's the main caract er down there: He walks behind her 😊 The obligatory flower girls are lined up. Mary receives her flowers, and then the crown price streches out his hand to greet the girl. Them two cuties looked at him with faces cleally saying: And WHO are you?? He bend down and explained this askward situation: "I'm her husband" he wispwered ... Now I'm in tears again 😭 Their faces - which they didn't know he was actually saving - said "Oh, cool" - and they greeted him with big smiles. I mean, how can you not love and respect him?

I’m echoing your appreciation for Marie’s Dee blue velvet gown. So many of her gala gowns make her look doll-like - she’s so petite, especially when standing beside her tall husband- but this gown is regal and classic with no frou-frou. The gown’s train is perfect on her. Princess Bene is THE stellar classic princess (I mean: purple velvet!) and Queen Margrethe, while getting noticeably more frail, still glowed, wearing one of her most favourite gowns. Queen Mary looked absolutely majestic wearing those emeralds and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if she were to have some alterations made to her lace and velvet gown. Let’s give it a couple of years and we will probably see it in an updated version. Christian’s suddenly looking all grown up and FINE!

We also saw the crown jewels when we were in Denmark! It was so funny because in London there is a special building and gallery and line to see the British Crown Jewels. And it’s all hyped and part of the Tower experience. In Rosenberg, there were other really cool items in the cellar. And it felt like I had stumbled upon the Danish Crown Jewels accidentally.

Queen Mary of Denmark in the Danish Emerald Tiara looked absolutely gorgeous. Plus that dress from the first gala portrait still looked as stunning as last year. I also love the that Mary excluded the necklace and just wore the tiara and earrings. Princess Benedict of Denmark looked stunning in her purple dress, also the Sayn Wittengenstein Berleburg tiara looked great on her. Princess Marie looked great in her navy blue dress. Queen Margareth wore blue and brown, I personally hate this color combination. But I love the danish floral agertte tiara. The first coat looked warm but the way, my mom had a coat similar to the former danish queen's. Crown Princess Christian at the banquet was a shocker, I love his tailcoat.

@johannesofie77716 күн бұрын
A little pronunciation tip: Princess Benedictes name is pronounced with a clear E at the end, or else she sounds like a man. Denmark doesn't have the same system as in Britain where the princesses are named for their husband (Like Princess Michael of Kent), her name is Benedicte from birth. Other than that: thank you for a great video ❤️

I love Brittany’s enthusiasm and the information she provides for us, but you’re wasting your time with the pronunciation tips. I think it’s an American thing.
@galbax115 күн бұрын
I also find it incredibly poor that English speakers don't even TRY to get the pronounciation of foreign names right. Just ask a native speaker for f*** sake, it takes 30 seconds more in "research". It's pathetic imho and obliterates the whole content.
@opalruby1315 күн бұрын
@ Like I said, it tends to be an American thing. I know that’s a generalisation and not all Americans are proud of their ignorance but I feel that a lot of them seem not to recognise that there is actually a correct way to say things and it’s a courtesy to learn how, rather than just saying things phonetically when other languages (even non-American English) don’t always work that way.

New Years Banquet in Denmark 🇩🇰 Princess Benedict wearing husband’s family tiara. Created 1905. Lovely purple gown! The fringe tiara looks amazing. Princess Marie rocks Dagmar floral tiara. Princess Dagmar born in 1890. The dress is amazing navy with collar and belt. Dowager Regent Queen Margethe wear convertible floral tiara purchased in 1950’s. Wearing sapphire set Russian origin from her maternal side. Crown Prince Christian 1st event as crown Prince. Queen Mary debuted Emerald Parure. Emeralds were willed to the crown by Queen Sophie. It was a gift in delivery of her son. She is wearing tiara and earrings. She repeated same gown she wore in the official portraits. Love how she restyled her hair instead of up and down.

Amazing Channel. So stylish. So Exquisite. So fun. Why so fun? Well, everyone was doing that handshake thing; bowing as they did so with the royal femmes. Then one of the handshakers, the one facing the door the royals entered by, the director type guy, said something to Queen Mary Beautiful as she walked away from him, which made her turn for a second and look back at him and, I expect, she made some kind of witty reply. And i thought that the following is what transpired: As they shook hands the doorman director said: "Welcome your majesty, it_s a privilege and pleasure to meet you at last." Queen Mary: "Was i worth the wait?, she quips with her warmest smile before turning and walking away. The Doorman Director seizes a bold opportunity: "For a glimpse of you, i_d wait forever." Queen Beautiful is amused and turns back graciously to him: "I_ll send you a selfie", she quips again. Afterthought: i think i_ve just put myself in the running for royal jester.😀

I adore your videos, you are perceptive, and your commentary is fantastic... my ONLY (hopefully constructive) critcism would be that I wish you would learn the pronunciation for the names of things which are non-english languages. There are so many resources online to demonstrate pronunciation, and it would show so much more respect. I feel like you are trying to be respectful by not 'butchering' (as you say) the names, but I think it shows 1000% more respect to learn them. :) I hope you take this in the spirit it's meant... very much an admirer, and a fan of your videos. Many, many best wishes for your new year :)

QUESTION: What is the name for the jewelry worn over the shoulders? It seems all royalty wear them to important events.
@mikeyb293215 күн бұрын
If you are referring to the chain/collar some of them are wearing with a badge in the form of an elephant, then that is the Order of the Elephant. From wiki: _"The Order of the Elephant (Danish: Elefantordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry and is Denmark's highest-ranked honour. It has origins in the 15th century, but has officially existed since 1693, and since the establishment of constitutional monarchy in 1849, is now almost exclusively used to honour royalty and heads of state."_

I think it''s disappointing that you don't make any effort to learn how to properly pronounce names AND that you do NOT even know the difference between a stole and a shawl. The white fox (fur) piece is a stole. A shawl is usually knitted or crocheted and looks pretty shabby compared to the magnificence of real fur. But please, before you put your videos online, find someone who can tell you how to pronounce names in other languages. It's appalling that you're reporting on the Danish Royals but make zero attempt to learn how to correctly pronounce their names. Thumbs down from me.
