The tip off of the fake pack is the way the package is cut. Real pack has a straight cut both top and bottom. The fake pack has a zigzag cut on top and bottom of the package. I have a fake pack bought at a dollar store in the mall. The cards are thin with no code card. I look for these to teach kids about being scammed by dollar stores.

Also check if the price is cheap or if they have a tag on the pack that shows reliable retailers. Usually fake packs show no sign of the retailers since they usually come from cheap convenience stores. Also if you really want to know then rip the cards to find black ink
