i don't know exactly how or why, but i get a very particular, yet incredibly good feeling watching those ballet classes. i can feel a pleasurable tranquility... i love the movements, the progression of rhythm and difficulty, the students exchanging glances, the clothes, the pianist... for a brief hour i can really disconnect from all my reality and feel myself there, inside that room, for a moment i can imagine myself living in a cloudy london, waking up early, taking the underground and going to that class. terrific! greetings from brazil! 💕

Try getting some acupuncture from a good "Dr" that will help your recovery immensely. I now swear by acupuncture (from the right person) after three injuries in three years. One was a really bad ankle sprain - nothing as serious as yours. I'm older so my recovery was paramount... Acupuncture, chiro, foods/herbs to reduce inflammation and major doses of Vit D from the intense TX summer sun also helped a lot. Keep getting better and stronger!

As an older woman now, having been a dancer, a teacher and a dance teacher from my early teens into my 20’s, I truly appreciate Olga’s clear, precise ways with all her students. Dance is such a gentle way to love discipline, the arts, your community, the craft itself, the music, your fellow artists, and have respect for your teacher, and YES, your body, heart, and soul. So moving! Thank you 🙏

Thanks very much for another brilliant class by the always wonderful Olga Evreinoff. She is simply one of the best - wise, musical, succinct in her exercises & corrections.... The dancers look terrific & beautiful, as always. The Royal Ballet holds the gold standard. The pianist is also very good, again befitting the benchmark the Royal maintains. On a technical note, the camera work is frustrating. Please, as Fred Astaire insisted, let the dancers dance with their entire bodies. The constant tight cropping on body parts & faces, is highly distracting, non-dance-sense - from what Olga is teaching & what the dancers are executing. In previous years, one could catch the entire exercise before the camera started wandering around. All the dancers watching WBD eagerly await whatever the ballet master/mistress is offering, & the dizzying camera editing is maddening as well as limiting.

I so wish I had stuck with ballet as a child. Like most young girls I did it briefly as a young kid, but only stuck with it for about a year or two before stopping. I'm not sure why I stopped, we were poor so maybe it was money. Or maybe my little child brain just wanted to do something else. Either way, now I'm 28 years old and have far too many health issues stemming from years of repeated injuries that even if starting this late was possible, I'd never dance professionally. Really really wish I'd stuck with it. If I'd had the chance to build up the strength and flexibility before things started going so poorly for me, my life could have been a lot different :( Beautiful dance. I'll continue to appreciate it from the sidelines regardless.

He's great, isn't he? He is a Welsh dancer. His name is William Bracewell and he currently holds the position of First Soloist with the company. The company filmed an almost full- length version of Romeo and Juliet in 2019, starring William and the lovely Francesca Hayward ( who was also one of the only good things in the ghastly Cats movie). There are excerpts posted on youtube. You can also see them dancing exquisitely together on youtube in Balanchine's Dances at a Gathering. Solo piano played by the Royal Ballet's superb Musical Director and principal pianist Rob Clark. You will see Rob playing for company class on World Ballet Day 2018. This is one of my favorite classes. I appreciated quality of the video and audio from the production team who put this together so well. It felt like I am there taking the class with these beautiful dancers. The pianist and music choice is also my favorites, I can watch this video everyday and transported into lala land.

Love to enjoy this class, but the camera person was obviously never a ballet dancer and are shooting this like MTV and keeps jumping around to the students faces so you cannot see the demonstrations of the teacher. Please teach them to focus on the full body shot of the teacher when they are demonstrating, and the full body of the students when they are practicing.

I don't have a balletic bone in my body (sadly) but watching these classes makes me feel like I could fly. Utterly mesmerising and beautiful to watch and the incredible work these dancers put in to make it look so effortless! I'm also in awe of the pianists!

No one does until they learn, practice and rehearse. I bet most of the people in this ballet class didn't either, they just wanted to be a ballet dancer and every person who starts a ballet class, has no idea what they're doing until the instructor tells them what to do, and slowly they become professional after continuous practice. People who want to be a doctor, they start off not knowing one thing about the human anatomy or even what kind of doctor they want to be, they first think of wanting to save lives and fix people. All you can do it try it. It's not easy but if you're passionate about ballet, you can turn out to be a famous ballet dancer!

The teacher is creative and genious. High musicality. Kind person. The dancers are amazing, incredible technique, high intelligence and great musicality. I admire them. How can they learn the steps so quickly and dance with great expression the first time? Next time I travel to London, I want to see the Royal Ballet live.

@@brentfoto I'm sure it is, but for some of us, we just want to "take class" with them, learn the combinations and maybe try to attempt doing them, so we need to see the teacher, and also see the dancers great ballet technique, that is why so much camera movement doesn´'t work for me...I can´t see anything of the things that I am looking for in the ballet class section of World Ballet Day...and also...there's already so much movement, the dancers are already jumping and spinning...It would be good, if the camera could stay still, give focus and achieve some sort of balance with them...Like in WBD 2015, '16 or '17. Maybe for the upcoming years, the production can have different recordings...the documentary-like and the ballet class-like...

Whoever filmed this is not a dancer. Please hold the camera steady and focus it on her body so that we can learn the exercise. It's so hard to follow because the camera is changing to random shots during the instruction instead of on her actual instruction. How do you get her nuance you don't show her? Beautiful otherwise - thank you.
