Top Class- ballet trained myself and having followed Federico's career from the beginning and now seeing Yumi's career flourish, I can tell you she is a gem in the ROH cast, technically and aesthetically stunning and there have been so many greats. partnered with Federico and being coached by the incredible Zenaida (a star in her own right), if these are the rehearsals, the performances will be sensational. coaching by much praising often makes the dancers feeling (too) good at their dance. But for an art form trying to approach the intangible and infinite, dancers should be humbled in my opinion, not only by the art form, but also by the way of coaching. And I think this is a major difference between the Russian way and the British way, among which I prefer the former.

I have followed her a long time and I too think she has become extremely thin. More than I have ever seen her. You can see it in her face and collar bone especially and it makes her look older. I just really hope she has a long, healthy career. Her dancing has certainly matured and she was extremely comfortable/stable here.

As dancers mature out of extreme youth, they lean out even more, which is very noticeable in face and upper body. I think she looks to be in peak condition-perfection.

Although an independent investigation found that "there were no matters to pursue” in the allegations raised against Liam Scarlett, ROH and others did nothing to support and defend an artist who had contributed so richly to the fabric of performances at ROH (including the staging of this version of Swan Lake as spotlighted in this Insights video). By their inaction, Kevin O'Hare and ROH are in fact responsible for the subsequent death of Liam Scarlett. Let SHAME rain down on the heads of Kevin O'Hare and ROH and the originators of the false accusations made against Mr Scarlett! What atonement will you make now, Mr O'Hare? And how will YOUR obituary summarise this scandalous chapter of your life?

"no matters to pursue" doesn't mean that nothing happened. It just means that there was no proof something happened, so no way to bring this to prosecution. Unfortunately in most sexual harassment cases there is no proof because these things often have no witnesses. False accusations exist, yes, but they are incredibly rare in sexual misconduct cases and even more so in sexual misconduct towards minors/young adults. We don't KNOW nothing happened. There could be multiple reasons why he took his life. I don't think we should speculate on that. It is obviously a tragic story for everyone involved.

Responsible for what? He was the one who ultimately made that terrible decision, nobody else did. Yes, it's a shame it ended the way it did but don't try to put that blame onto Kevin, ROH or the people that came forward with the accusations.

@@Simplenotion "Multiple reasons" -- exactly. As someone with bipolar disease who has had several bouts of suicidal depression (I thank God that the right medications have eliminated these bouts and I love life fully) I can say that these episodes had very little to do with what was going on. Your brain just goes haywire on its own accord. At the most, the crisis in his career could have triggered his depression, but in my experience, he would have been obsessing about something else and taken his life anyway. Surprisingly, psychiatrists have absolutely no way of knowing which of their depressed patients will kill themselves. His suicide is a tragedy, but it would be a mistake to blame it on anyone else. At least the RB has kept his Swan Lake in their repertoire; San Francisco Ballet canceled his Frankenstein, which I thought was cowardly. We should separate the art from the artist.

Fumi is a beautiful technical dancer from the waist down but somehow lacking in the ability to project the emotions of the character which means she won’t be able to connect to the audience. I hope she grows in this direction considering how talented she is,

Hi Rita don’t forget this is rehearsal so a learning space not the finished article. With ballet you’re always learning even fredrico is still learning here as a dancer and partner. I’ve seen Fumi live and she’s electric - she stole the show in the two pigeons from mariannela and Vadim. Which is quite something to achieve. Mariannela, in my humble opinion, is the best ballerina in the world right now - she has everything plus more experience than Fumi so you can’t compare and each dancer brings their something that noone else has. I can’t wait to continue watching fumi develop in roles. As you say she is very talented and a very beautiful dancer.
