This video came at the most PERFECT time for me, thank you, Eevi!! I am on week 3 of your 30 Day Launch program and I was having trouble figuring the best way to set my prices for my hardcover on IngramSpark. My book costs $9.41 USD to print (yikes!) So at the 40% wholesale discount, I'd have to charge almost $20 for the book just to make ~$1 in royalties 😫 I don't want to charge that much for my hardcover because I want people to actually buy it over the softcover and ebook, but that may not happen. At least now it looks like there is a way to make the price lower for the independent consumer!! This is such valuable information, thank you!

Perfect timing. I am just about ready to go live with my first non-fiction work. I publish through B&N, but the cost for hardcover was too high. IS does it with greater royalties, important since I have a collaborator. A dollar royalty split 2 ways is hard to swallow. I was was checking out IS for better royalties on hardcover, this new resource that effectively dissolves the "discount percentage" is a game changer. This will allow me to republish my children's books in hardcover.I was planning on a redux of them anyway. I decided to republish under a pseudonym to keep them separate from my non-fiction titles. Win Win. I'm encouraged that I could still sell on Amazon and B&N, B&N because some of my friends do not do online purchasing. That's why I started with B&N, for the brick and mortar access. This is huge and thanks for breaking it down so clearly. Now if only IS printed on coated stock for the interior.

Thanks, Eevi. I’m afraid that if a potential customer sees the shipping cost by IS, they might decide against buying it. Prime customers are so used to not paying that.

Hi Judy! Yes, that is very true. In the end, where people decide to purchase their books from is entirely up to them. They may still decide to go with Amazon, but at least we gave it a go, especially since this is a completely free option to us.

2 questions-1. Why would one want to do the Barnes &Noble press, instead of just doing Ingram Spark (after doing KDP)? Doesn’t Ingram Spark push to Barnes and Noble anyway? Also on the E-commerce section on IS, why would someone want to limit the amounts you can get there, as you said is available? Thanks again Eevi!

As to your 2nd question, because we are able to set different prices for each link we create, we may decide to create a special deal for certain buyers, and therefore want to limiting the number of books they can order. The code could be used/ embedded directly on our website (via a code block) to automatically generate the same information we would see on our book's sales page over on IngramSpark. I personally just use the URL over on my website. I hope this answers your question, Alice!

Thanks so much, Ophra! If someone orders our hardcover from IS via Amazon as a prime subscriber, they usually won't have to pay for extra shipping. If however they purchase directly via IS, then shipping would have to be paid for separately. I so hope this answers your question.

If your QR code is a dynamic one, you should be able to change it to whatever you'd prefer. Or you could simply use the QR code that IS creates for us.
