Royalton Rivera Cancun full outdoor walkthrough Dec 2023 MX

Hey folks, just get back from a week at the amazing Hideaway by Royalton Rivera Cancun and did a full outdoor walkthrough for everyone to see. The resort is HUGE with many sections. Room tour and other videos also upcoming. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the resort.

I have heard that the water is more brown in this area instead of turquoise. Some videos I've seen just have brown closer to the shore, and others i dont see any turquoise

Hi, we arrive there later this year and we've booked diamond club. Are we able to use the hideaway poolside area?

Yes for sure, as long as you are not bringing any kiddos :). If you are looking for the biggest daytime party, I feel the Hideaway pool was the most happening.

How was the beach there?

The seating area for the beach is outstanding, lots of chairs and day beds, and 3 beach bars depending that portion of the resort you are booked at. The actual beach was pretty, clear and blue the day we arrived, but from there the weather took a turn and it became murky. So, answer I suppose is the beach is good if you catch it at a good time. They do run tractors in the AM to remove any seaweed.

Hi, was there a "smell" in the resort? Or in and around the resort/beach areas? I saw one video that mentioned this and im unsure now about booking. Please and thank you x

You can get a whiff of the "smell" on certain occasions yes. The only spot we noticed it on our first 6 days was in a few closed off staircases. But on our departure day, it was a little bit more noticeable in a few of the hallways. It's hard to tell if that smell is from sewage challenges, or if it's from the mangrove (basically the hotel is a middle of a humongous mangrove/swamp). But for us, it had really zero impact on our visit.
