I think Katie just doesn't like green. I've seen multiple soaps where she claims the green ruined the design. I challenge Katie to make an all green soap! Not blue green either... Grass green, olive, sage, yellow green. Green.
@RoyaltySoaps4 жыл бұрын
I made an all green emerald soap in May!! 💗😂 I promise I like green. Sparingly.
@raerohan42414 жыл бұрын
I think it's because of the colours that she typically uses? It seems to me that she uses lots and lots of pinks, which would become muddy if the green were to mix in, and purples, which typically really clash with green. She seems to prefer bright, vibrant, unicorn-sparkles-and-rainbow designs, which don't really benefit from bright greens, jade or mint are better suited; and the designs which do benefit from bright greens (earthy, nature-type vibes) are ones she doesn't make often. This design is actually a good balance between earthy vibes and the vibrancy she seems to prefer, which I guess is the reason she was happy to add some this time

As a soap maker myself, I have to say, once greens are in the presence of lye, they go VERY UGLY. To me they always look like baby barf. The first few soaps I made with green in them I was horrified. It takes a day or two, but eventually they come out looking fine. But they really are so ugly before saponification. That’s likely why she uses them sparingly.

I would love to see a “dark academia” aesthetic themed soap! Craving those Ravenclaw common room vibes. Some ideas that pop into my head for the property name: Pine Hollow, WildWood, Carson Hollow, Pineberley (play on Pemberley), HavenPine, Havenwood, Golden Gardens, Poet’s Reserve...just some ideas!
@user-tq6cn8cg2n4 жыл бұрын
You should do a “different aesthetics” soap line! Like the soaps can include: •Edgy (Grunge,e-girl,dark with chains) •cottegecore (like this one!) •girly (light colors, accents, glitter) •vintage (vintage colors, textures) •hippie (earthy tones, flowers) •baddie (neons, bold embeds, micas) Just a thought! You probably won’t see this but I think this would be such a cool idea because it would fit everybody based on what they like! Plus they’re all super different but tie together for a good group!

I always liked the name "The Burrow" commonly referred to the Weasley's house in Harry Potter (as a play on words for their family name resembling weasel) but for me whenever I think of it, I am reminded of Rat and Mole from Wind in the Willows sitting by a cozy fireplace or Mrs Rabbit from Beatrix Potter tending to her children Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottentail and Peter. It gives that cottage core, storybook feeling, so you could easily add something more personal at the beginning Eg. Petal Burrow.

Cottagecore doesn’t specifically refer to fairies. (That’s actually a subcategory called fairycore.) Cottagecore revolves around natural and old-fashioned motifs (distressed wood, airy open spaces, vintage furniture from secondhand stores), like an old-fashioned cottage in the forest (hence “COTTAGEcore.”) Think “The Secret World of Arietty” or KZbinr Jonna Jinton. You could always dig into your family tree for name inspiration. Either a place they lived, or even a last name. I've been a witch for almost 30 years and cottagecore looks like every image I've ever seen on most witchcraft/wiccan books, groups, websites etc . look up what a witch's garden looks like

Hah! I thought cottage core was a Tumblr thing. I'm pretty sure that's where it originated, at least.

You could call it "Lothlorien" "Bag End" or "The Shire".

@@Firepaw20011 it's a common fantasy/ideal of lesbians to want to live in a cottage with their wife, that's why I mentioned it

You should make a rainbow soap of sorted imbeds in a clear soap base. It could be like one of those "seek and find" books we used to have as kids!

I love the name Springestate (pronounced “spring-state”) for your home. It’s a combination of “Springtide,” (representing the youthful energy you carry with you, your young family growing there, and the newness and refreshment you guests will receive) and “Estate.”

“The House of Carson” or “The Royal Stay” or “The House of Guest” kinda like a royal name for the royal court 🤔💗

I have a question. My best friend want to make soap but she is allergic to coconut. How do we go about doing that without that ingredient?
@Hannah-zw9ow4 жыл бұрын
Katie has a soap making for beginners series, I think I remember her discussing that in one of the episodes, you should check there!
@adde95064 жыл бұрын
Coconut ingredients aren't necessary. You can use just olive oil. A little castor oil will make it bubble better. It's also possible that if she's allergic to straight coconut, she won't have issues with it once it has gone through the chemical changes involved in making soap. In that case, just wear gloves.

I’m allergic to coconut so I just took that out. I only use olive, palm and castor. It’s a great bar.

My husband is allergic to coconut also so I use olive, canola, babassau, castor, and palm oils. I’m trying to formulate something I like without the babassau because it’s definitely pricey

What about Haven Cottage? That's what I wanna name my house when I get one. I'm a cottagecore sapphic and my dream is to sell my soaps from my store front in a small town with my girlfriend. We'll be known as "the local lesbians" and everyone in town will know us by name. :)

I think like something with meadows in it like Mushroom Meadows or if you have a lot of like a plant like say Sunflowers you could call it Sunflower Meadows
