Last year, at age 47, I finally got to see the Grand Prismatic Spring in person. I've wanted to see it since the 5th grade(there was a pic of it in my social studies book) and after we looked at it for about 15 min, I realized I was in a dream come true moment and stood there for 5 more minutes with tears streaming down my face! I was so happy and my heart was overflowing. I'm so glad, Katie, that you got to experience that feeling in your trip!!! Keep traveling! Keep exploring and keep experiencing! My husband & I had four teenagers when we went to Maui by ourselves (only bcuz we couldn’t afford all 6 of us) for two weeks probably 10 or 12 years ago & I cried when we left. I knew it would be years before we could do it again. I loved every minute of being there so I understand why you had such a great time.

As a Katie from a small town in northern Texas who was overweight most of her life and entire childhood, I can confirm, this woman speaks truth. I left Texas and have only returned to help my parents move and visit my grandmother. Just being back in Texas for those few days was enough to trigger a major relapse in my depression. Could not get out of there fast enough. Not to say there are not lovely people there, because there are many. It's just that the few who are not are louder and drown out the good sometimes. I have made it my mission to be better and do better and share love and kindness. This world is rough, no need to make it harder on anyone.

We are currently on holiday in Wales and we have been driving the Snowdonian and Elan Mountains. Wow wee, with the sheep, massive drops and clouds that cover and light the mountains, its just just so beautiful. As for the rain, we have had sunshine for the majority but when it does rain, it makes for a wonderful woodburner fire, candles and lamps. Beautiful atmosphere. I love when the girls and us have been to woods to collect fircones and wood for the fire. So grounding :D On the note of the ladies being unkind, I have taught my girls that no matter how you feel, you are always polite, and that includes their words and their faces.

I can relate Katie, to the things that you loved during your holiday/visit. I have always felt like a collectivist living in an individualistic country. Hey Katie, I watch your videos from India where I currently live. I am truly inspired by your creations. I started making soaps during the pandemic and so am still fairly new at this. Anyway the real reason I am writing today is that I was in Hawaii about a month ago too -we went to Maui. I completely understand how much it has impacted you because I too, did not want my tan or memories to fade when we got back. I LOVED it. I am from the Caribbean so island living is my jam and while I love my home, there is justsomething so wonderful about Hawaii. Maui - we stayed in Waikea - was so interesting because we explored parts of the island that were so cool in temperature the houses had chimneys. I was born and raised in Hawai’i and the vibe is just so different there. It’s so hard to explain unless you’ve actually been there. I joined the military at 18 and I got a reality check when I got to my first base and was told I was annoying because I was happy and tried ti spread that happiness. 😣 Unfortunately after a few years of being around jaded people it changed how I carried myself. When I took my now husband there back in 2016 for the first time he couldn’t believe how different things are there and the vibe is so calm and full of love. Katie's beautiful soap. I have been watching you for a few years now but never comment. But with your experience in Hawaii I agree with you 1000000000%. I am from the caribbean island of St. Vincent and that's how we are back home. Very open and welcoming. The fruits and food are life like no other, everything tastes way better than what we get here because of all the chemicals on them. The meats taste way better also because they eat fresh green grass and fruits and other foods, plus the fishes are salt water fishes which taste way better also. So by me hearing you talk about it i was shaking my head in agreement and smiling. Lol Then I literally started to feel home sick because I have been living here in Canada for 30 years now and I miss home like crazy. My last trip home was in 2013 for 9 weeks, I didn't want to come back to Canada. Lol. Because I compare everything here too back home. Especially when we go grocery shopping and the price for fruits. I just look at them and feel sad because we grew all the fruits in our backyard. We just wake up and choose which fruit we feel like eating once in season. But that's life sometimes we have to give up a little for something else. But I was on amazon looking at tropical fruit trees the dwarf sizes to plant in pots here and put in the green house in winter, because I saw a homesteader on yt doing that and they have winter too, I got so excited seeing that and got some hopes. So now i am buying dwarf fruit trees like back home to grow here. So I feel very excited and relieved now. No more toxic fruits for us. 💃 💃 😂😂😂. But I am happy y'all enjoyed the trip.

I've been to Hawai'i twice, and last time was the best! We stayed in Kihei and got shave ice every day from a family who'd relocated from the same area where my sister lived at the time, so they hit it off. The family made their own juices from their own produce. My niece found a ton of her mom's favorite flower everywhere: hi-BITH-cuth (because she was 3-4 at the time and SO CUTE!). We got honked at once by a guy we later passed after he'd been pulled over, but it was on the back-end of the Hana Highway, and you do not want to speed there

I haven't had any sort of regular coffee in well over a decade. I don't regret it. I do feel caffeine is a drug, to a degree. Your body wants it, either you feel you mentally need it or your body gets so used to having it. Hated it in high school on those days I didn't have time to make coffee before school. It honestly has done wonders for not feeling addicted to anything but also for my teeth! Yeah, I might feel tired... but honestly, eating better had given more energy than caffeine ever did. I'm in my early 30's but I can feel how my body reacts to my diet much more now. If I don't have vegetables or not enough water one day, I know I'll feel not quite as good the next day. It's amazing how you get in tune with your body at some point. Good for you on getting off caffeine, Katie!

Katie, I was always super thin. Even after I had two children. Soon after I was diagnosed with lupus and the steroids and medication made me gain 60+ lbs. it was hard because I ended up with diabetes. Lately I lost the 60 lbs and the drs are now testing me on the massive weight loss. It’s been a hard ride with my illness. My main concern is my mental health at the moment. I no longer focus on my weight. My health and mental health means the most to me! I now get to buy clothes often. If they don’t fit, I donate them. 💜💜💜
