It is funny, I come from Hispanic background and I married a white man -what my mother and uncle didn't realized I am fair skin and don't look Hispanic in which I would have preferred because anyone that was prejudice I would have known right away but didn't since I didn't feel discrimination for others. I treated everyone the same with kindness and compassion. Did I get upset - over it- not really, but they never saw things the way I did. Plus, they foolishly assume I look Hispanic but never did really. In fact, my own mother wanted me to lighten my hair blonde because I look very fair. However, after 10 years of it- I went back to my reddish-brown hair.
