As Richie would say MARVALESS game that. Well bowled and well batted and well played England.. And well batted Mr Defrateus on your 88 runs to bad you did not make 100.. 😃

I was listening to this on TMS and on the last day turned it off when Healy and Fleming put on a long partnership expecting us to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory so was made up when I got up the next day and found out we'd got the last two wickets and had won the Test.

It was Australia who snatched a loss from the jaws of a draw. Pretty insipid batting effort on a track which was good to bat on throughout. Mind you, England deserved to win the third Test, so I'm glad they pulled this one off.

Ah yes the only match that England won in that series . They got flogged in three others and drew in another. The days when England had no idea against Australia , particularly against Warne , who dominated in the first two tests and took that famous hat trick . Still an excellent performance from England in this Match

The umpires not even asking for another look at the run out of Mark Taylor in the 3rd test, when the replay showed he was clearly out, was terrible umpiring. We might have gone on to win that test as well. We certainly would have had a better chance if the umpires had done their job properly.....

Was Gough injured for this game?? He must have been otherwise I can’t see the logic in leaving him out of the team. He played brilliantly in the test before this one. Mind you the England selection policy in the 90’s was questionable to say the least!!

Why was Hick not playing? Hard to see how he should have been dropped, after 98* last match. (After consulting Wikipedia) Oh, I see, he was injured. That was his last chance for an Ashes century.

@@dynamite1976 There was no way Smith was ever getting on this tour after Warne and Tim May tied him up in knots during the '93 Ashes leading to him being unceremoniously dropped for the final Test at the Oval.

The send-off Chris Lewis gave to Craig McDermott when he got him out always makes me laugh. Lewis got fined for it but it was probably worth every penny as McDermott was supposed to be a right gobshite on the pitch towards the England players. And no way should Steven Rhodes been our wicketkeeper on that tour, he was decent but Jack Russell was a better 'keeper and batsman. Rhodes had a nightmare tour and never played for England again.
@mrkipling220110 ай бұрын
I've no idea why Jack Russell wasn't our wicket keeper on that tour. Rhodes was terrible.
@Prodigy_Fan10 ай бұрын
@@mrkipling2201Agreed. But what I will say about Rhodes is that he had a very good summer in '94 against New Zealand and South Africa with both bat and gloves but he was very poor on that 94/95 Ashes tour. Jack Russell was harshly treated in being dropped for him in the first place as he'd not done much wrong on the tour to the West Indies in early '94.

Gooch was not out. If there were DRS before Australians thugs would have lost 80% of the matches they won

You Indian lot really are bitter about your losses to Australia over the years aren't you?? If you remember rightly numb nuts, your Indian board refused to use DRS. Refused. Ask all the other test playing nations who's umpires cheated most over the years and every one of them will say Indian umpires. Your lot fix pitches, fix matches and no amount of your garbage talk on KZbin will change that.
