Dropping Simon Katich undid the Australians, essentially the team were always one down every game, Watson was the only opener scoring. Hussey and Haddin bailed out the team too many times which wasn't a helpful situation.

Nonsense, the batting line up was one our best ever, the top 6 all averaged well over 40 except Strauss just over 40. Swann arguably the best English spinner, Anderson top wicket taking seamer in test Cricket. Broad 605 test wickets, Tremlett didn’t play much but was ideal for Australian pitches & Bresnan/Finn contributed too. Not the strongest Aussie team but easily one of best England teams
