The PSP was such a underrated system especially for RPG players because they had so many great ones. thinking about it we RPG players had it good in the 2000s to 2010ish for portable jrpg games.

JEANNE D'ARC is the best strategy rpg on the psp hands down. Better than fftactics, and tactics ogre! In my opinion of course

Dude, I'm so happy for you (and jealous!) for receiving that ridiculous PSP collection! I just picked up a PSP and complete copy of Trails in the Sky two weeks ago and that's the entirety of my PSP collection right now. You got so many games there that are on my list. You've earned it, man!

Oh that 3 & 9 book for Reverie is actually accessible in game via the backstory option in the main menu. Pretty cool that they printed it into a book though.

Holy moley! That PSP box was insane! Also, Hammerin' Hero is a 2D platformer series that's been around since the NES days. The North American PSP physical has an absurdly low print run, he wasn't kidding when he said "rare PSP game enclosed" Also, Final Fantasy Legend of the Crystals is such a formative anime for me! It takes place a few hundred years after FFV (or a version of FFV... some stuff doesn't line up) but it is overflowing with charm, style and gorgeous artistry! I won't lie, I am secretly hoping we get some PSP reviews in the future :D

Always have a hard time with these kinds of videos since I spent so much money on my own collection as just a university student a couple of years back, but I know that they are in good hands at least! That is the most insane psp haul I've ever seen. disgaea 1 and 2 on psp i believe is just straight ports from the ps2. Also hope you have fun building that Valimar kit.

Wow! That Final Fantasy VHS set hit my nostalgia buttons hard. I had that in the 90’s. I bought it from a local music store that had a very small corner dedicated to anime. It’s been ages since I’ve watched it, but it was loosely connected to FFV.

As far as I know, Three and Nine is somewhat of an essential reading before playing Reverie as it is the introduction of two characters that will appear in the game for the first time. It's my understanding that it's their "origin story" on some level. I still have my Limited Edition sealed and was planning on opening it when I finally get caught up in the series.

I have the cord, and it worked pretty well but you can also capture some incredible footage direct from the PSP via USB and some custom firmware. Used it a long while back. Also managed to control the PSP with a controller hooked up to my PC at the same time. No idea how I managed that, but that's how I did the Persona 2 Innocent Sin capture years ago. :)

13:34 ("Disgaea") You may already know this but just in case, "Disgaea Infinite" isn't actually an SRPG. It is, funnily enough, a Visual Novel. Kind of an interesting case since this was probably the first, and for the longest time only, NIS VN that NISA had ever localized. Likely due to the IP being, well, "Disgaea" related. It's only recently, like literally this past year, where they finally brought over another NIS VN, "Process of Elimination". But yeah, still, that's quite the haul. I think the only direct "Disgaea" related PSP games you're missing are the two "Prinny" games. Unless you already have them, I can only go based off of this video. They are more spin-offs, specifically being 2D action-platformers infamous for being pretty hard, very reminiscent of "Ghosts' N Goblins". Otherwise, there are various tangentially related stuff like "Z.H.P." (which you also got) and the "Phantom Brave" port. 15:40 ("Generations of Chaos") Oh god, I apologize in advance cause I'm going on a full on tangent here. There's actually quite the history behind that game. Essentially, It's part of a much larger brand called "Neverland". "Neverland" itself is a surprisingly massive yet relatively unknown franchise that spans all the way back to 1996 up until the last entry released in I think 2012/2013. It is primarily divided into two main sub-series, "Spectral Force" (typically SRPGs) and "Generation of Chaos" (real-time-ish army simulators with SRPG elements). That entry you got specifically is the PSP port of "Generation of Chaos IV", just translated as "Generation of Chaos" since that was the first one to ever get localized. There have also been various spin-offs like a fighting game crossover between the two, "Spectral vs Generation", and a strategic card game called "Neverland Card Battles". And of course, they are all connected to each other so you'd see characters show all over the place. Like "Trails" before "Trails" if I may put it that way. While the vast majority of this series still remains JP only, some scant few entries did manage to actually get released world wide, primarily the PSP ports. I actually grew up playing a number of them so, despite their jank and technical issues, I have a very particular fondness for this franchise. Especially for the main artist and character designer, Katsuyuki Hirano. Funnily, it was also featured in a couple of crossover games such as the infamous "Chaos Wars" (PS2) and "Cross Edge" (PS3/XBox360). Sadly, given how long ago the last entry was, the franchise is more or less finished. Idea Factory has since moved on from developing RPGs and kind of just makes Otome now. Quite successful Otome apparently but not really my area of interest. Instead, their subsidiary, Compile Heart, have taken over the developing reigns. Their first couple of games, such as "Record of Agarest War" and the aforementioned "Cross Edge", took heavy inspiration from "Neverland". To the point of outright reusing the same mechanics and enemy units wholesale. Even Katsuyuki Hirano, surprise surprise, also worked on them. Though now CH is primarily known for the "Hyperdimension Neptunia" series which itself has a lot of references to "Neverland" as well. The more you know...

My Trails from Zero limited edition also started to bend on the top. Question. Have you opened it recently? Mine is torn on the inside bend. I think they used the wrong cardboard for that game and I fear the longevity of the box.

Just finished Mimana actually. Sadly, I will say that you aren't missing out too terribly if you put that towards the back of your backlog. It is short (about 15ish hrs) so if you are looking for something to just have done in a day or two then it is ok. The game looks good and I didn't hate the combat but the story just isn't there. There's a lot of things that just happen with no context and the characters just accept it as something to be hashed out later.

Laser failures can be fixed at many places for $50. For me living in a city laser failures do happen but they are a non issue because of the easy fix. Now fires yeah you have to get pretty unlucky if you ever have to experience that. But it can happen. Discs can last for a long time and be free of rot for decades if they are kept in a climate controlled environment. I know many Europeans don’t have AC so I get how that can be an issue over there. But if you have an AC for your home it’s pretty unlikely you will get disc rot until many decades go by. I get simplifying your life though if the thought of issues happening is just too much for someone’s anxiety. And for that if getting rid of physical helps, I understand.

Disgaea Infinite is actually a visual novel spinoff rather than a mainline Disgaea SRPG. :) BTW, do you have any issue with your PSP battery? All our batteries for the console swelled up, so if we were to play our physical PSP games, we'd have no choice but to use a power supply instead.
