This road train is not legal for normal use on Swedish roads, but has a special permit to move containers around in Gothenburg harbour, it does so on a daily basis since 2012. It uses stretches of public road to do so, this is the longest road train on limited stretches of public road in Europe, and no its not only empty boxes, but loaded as well. Total weight can be up to 200t. Found the information in an online trucking magazine

Wow! We only did this as a test-drive on more or less closed road to show that is is possible. It is not legal in Sweden to drive that type of Road train. In some places is is allowed with 2 40' container.

@@jessb4535 Gulf Transport / Bulk Haulage were running seven trailer road trains hauling gold ore from Dead Bullock Soak to The Granites Gold Mine in the NT back in the early 90's. Their subsidiary company Powertrans has since built many even larger road trains (in capacity) which are still a regular sight on haul roads in the Iron Ore mining industry and others.

+le French one Yes mate, that is a genuine road train, 5 full size (45 foot) trailers, each with its own steerable dolly, it's a shame ya not allowed to let her loose on public roads. Iron ore road trains in Western Australia (on private roads) pull up to 10 full size trailers , with one of the centre trailers being a powered unit. No one drives with a clutch nowdays. 99.9% of the trucks are i shift or full auto

@@CruelQuertos I-Shift is only automated transmission, it still has dry clutch plate for move offs although it works automatic without clutch pedal. Only conventional automatic transmissions like Allison have torque converter. So engine's torque still goes through sliding clutch in move offs but automation and crawler gears minimize the wear of the clutch plate.

Cabover semis over here in the USA🇺🇸 are rare nowadays. Back in the 1980s & down, we use to have a mix of cabover & conventional cab semis. When the law over here increased the length limit, the number of cabover semis decreased & more conventional cab semis took their places.

@@kevinrichards3288 they have much better visbility and turning, but on the road they are uncomfortable, the shifters are sloppy and feel like theres blackhole between it and the box, that shorter wheelbase also decreases stability, if its an amt that solves on issue but the other cant be worked around easily, i love isuzu cabovers but ill take a bonnetted lousisville or mack anyday over one

Then when the mechanic jacks up the cab for access to the motor, the driver's lose shit goes all over the place making a big mess & sometimes break the windshield too.
