A Combat Android Marine. Fact is, the bugs are going to show up at some point, may as well be ready to fight and built for it.

Kid. Because I would enjoy making all the bad choices and getting in trouble.

Inclined towards colonial marine. As an aside, for those looking at colonial marshall, watch the movie Outland. Except for no Xenomorphs, watches like it belongs in the Alien univrse.

I played the Alien RPG two years ago at Virtual Gen Con. I played the Company Man. It was a great set of sessions (6 hours over three days). The game does an incredible job of capturing the feel and atmosphere of the Alien franchise.

Year Zero Engine is amazing when you get used to it. It has some amazing games with different "flavour", the rules change slightly because of this. Alien has the stress mechanics that makes the game very tense and scary. Tales From The Loop has luck, kids can't die and a mix of mundane and fantastical scenes. Forbidden Lands has the best journey mechanics I've ever seen in a game so if you want a gritty game focused on exploring that's the best imo. And all use very similar rules. I can't recommend trying more of Free League's enough.

I'm actually not a fan of the Year Zero Engine so much. However, I'll overlook that because the game concepts are way cool for some dope stories, Plus it's not the worse thing in the world. 🙂 Happy gaming. 🙂

Cant remember if I requested but would love your take on Mork Bork man. TY

Hmm. Maybe a Colonial Marshall... or a pilot. I'm pretty impressed with how relatively simple & elegant this shapes up. I'd like to see how this TTRPG's mechanics work with this.

Android Medic. Maybe one with a bit of a combo of fascination and disgust with the workings of biology.

Got to be a Colonial Marshal based on Sean Connery from Outland
@RPGElite Жыл бұрын
Oh! Outland. What choo know bout dat? 😉
@howardkingston7901 Жыл бұрын
Well as we know,Outland is High Noon in Space To keep up with topic in Classic Traveller Adv 11 Murder on Arcturus Station I only had one player available so they played a newly appointed Imperial Marshal to the station(and I stole the film aesthetics) Also later I ran Blue Planet (great game) and everyone played Marshals stationed in the High Port so Outland is where you can find descriptive stuff for a 'gritty' game.

I would love to play a marine or a kid... But you put Scientist on the table? I'm on that faster than a facehugger on a nose!

The problem that I have with the core rule book, is that it feels so disorganized, instead of explaining a mechanic when brought up, they just tell you to go to another section of the book, which will typically lead to another section of the book.

Writing a TTRPG myself right now. I get this, the problem is you start to repeat yourself and some players do not read a book linearly. So you can mention it like a throwaway and reference later. Or mention and light brush it, but then you start to repeat yourself. Or the worst case, mention and fill all details in, and then you bloat it out. It's a hard balance for sure.

@@aronlinde1723 I’ve found the best way to line up the rules for new players, especially if you’re writing it out, is to have the character sheet, and explain in detail what each stat, item, etc. etc., but ALIEN doesn’t do any of that. Very frustrating.

Super cool, I probably would never find people to play with, but I would definitely play a AIien RPG. Maybe I'd be a kid, or a android. That would be fun. I think I'd let someone else be the 'hero'

I think I would try out a kid first. Feels like it would add a lot to a gane to have one and it seems like it would be fun.

Truth be told. The Alien RPG holds true to the setting, meaning... don't be surprised when you always lose. There's a very specific way you can, possibly... (Even though you have a better chance at winning the lottery), to survive/win. It's honestly even worse than Call of Cathulu, survivability wise. At least, that's my experience.

I've been in at least 2 CoC games where we lived. :p ok, in one case we ended up living in an alternate present where WW2 came out differently, but we lived.

Depends on the scenario. Cinematic is supposed to be like a horror film where only 1 or 2 survive.
